plate, nozzles, venturi, pitot tube,) as well
as for filter control.
The application
In waste incineration plants there are many
pressure and air flow measurements. Combustion
optimisation is essential in the water oven to
guarantee the low emission levels to comply with
regulations. It is therefore necessary to measure
and control very accurately the various process
parameters. Examples of this are the primary and
secondary airflows, which are injected and
measured above and below the combustion grate to
ensure efficiency. The water discharger below the
grate, into which the hot ashes drop, is also another
critical measurement point. The level in this must
be maintained to ensure the water-seal between
the inside and the outside of the chamber is secure.
The solution
The airflow measurement is done with differential
pressure transmitters mounted on venturi tubes.
The low pressure-drop across the venturi device is
exactly measured by the DP sensor and directly
translated into flow signal.
The water level is maintained using a pressure
sensor with an extremely abrasion resistant ceramic
cell with a front flush diaphragm to avoid the risk of
clogging up.
