.he Task and Target columns are linked1 where&y the tar0et is the measure used to indicate that the task has &een delivered. %or e2ample1 the task may
&e %Feasibility Study and the associated tar0et may &e %Feasibility study analysed and signed of by executive board.
.he Resource column may&e people and3or /inance that is re4uired to deliver the task.
A0ainst these tasks the planned start date and /inish date o/ the task is represented &y an arrow. .his does not indicate how lon0 the task will take &ut
simply helps to identi/y i/ the delivery o/ it is on track. %allin0 &ehind schedule can &e represented &y an additional red arrow. A task completed ahead o/
schedule may &e represented &y makin0 the arrow 0reen.
.he overall aim is that individuals within the project can 0et a 4uick visual picture o/ how the key tasks in the project are pro0ressin0. .his chart may &e
used on its own /or simple projects or /or projects that are more comple2 it may &e supplemented with more detailed project plans e.0. plans developed in
Microso/t 52cel or Microso/t 6roject.
