Competitive economic environment in Romania and its harmonization with

the integrated European model

Romania and the European competitive environment
From 1 February 1995 the Association Agreement of Romania to the European Union
(European Agreement) entered into force and on June 21 1995 our country applied for EU
membership. The National Strategy for EU accession preparation must have a practical
resonance among economic actors, in this case the automobile manufacturers, due to the
liberalization of the European market in the first place.
Dacia officials have worked for a better understanding of "quality improvement" and
"cost reduction" as two distinct phenomena with their own characteristics. Research and
development determine science and technology and multidisciplinary approach allows
researchers from different sciences, which analyze a particular problem to quickly reach a
comprehensive level of communication which crosses interdisciplinary boundaries. Global
challenge requires a global approach, through actions which generate constant pressure to
determine the complex relationship between product (car) - market - pollution. Ecological
balance is an instrument of progress.

Romania has committed to adopt and implement a competition policy based on the same
principles as those contained in the European Union Treaty.
