A popular English-language magazine has invited readers to send in letters
sharing their recent experience of making an important decision. You decide
to send in a letter in which you briefly describe the situation and explain the reasons why you took an important decision, and assess what the conseuences of that decision might be in the future. To the Editor I am writing in response to your call for letters explaining personal experiences of making a significant decision. I would like to share my experience in hope that other readers might have good use of it. For many years, I have been leading a sedentary lifestile, which is, in my opinion, the plague of the new age. As a university student, I spent many hours studying and reading, and the trend continued when I graduated and got an employment that implied sitting at the computer for hours. onse!uently, and not surprisingly, the pain in the lower back started bothering me " a disturbance that progressed with years. It was not until my arms also started aching that I paid a visit to a doctor and started worying about the condition of my body. I set out on a research and gahtered all the possible information about physical health. It is then that I decided to start a program of physical exercises and follow it through into my senior days. I opted for a combination of weightlifting and cardiovascular training, since I learned that, firstly, weightlifting is the only type of exercise that provokes the production of marrow and muscle tissue, that people normally loose due to ageing, and secondly, that cardiovascular exercising improves your overall vitality and flexibility. Thus I found a suitable fitness center and started paving the new path to the healthy living. In the end, even if there might be some unwanted side#effects, such as tiredness or lack of time for watching television, this decision is expected to lead me to numerous benefits. $ost importantly, my physical and mental well#being will improve, and once my muscles are stronger, they will be better suporters for my body and the chances are that the pain will gradually decrease and finally dissappear. All in all, I feel that that was a milestone decision of my life. %ours sincerely, $agdalena &etrovic
