Preschool Daily Timeline*

6:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Before care: Breakfast, Playing and Morning discussion board
8:30a.m. 8:50 a.m. Arrival Activities: Morning Discussion Board and Planning time for
students.
9:00 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. Start of School Day/Morning Meeting: Attendance, Discussion over
our daily question, and looking over our plans for work time.
9:20 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. Morning Snack set up, eating as a group, and Clean up.
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Work time, Students carry out their plans during work time with
some adult interaction when requested or needed. Their plans may change as their
interests do; working at various centers and areas in the classroom while participating in
social interaction with both adults and other students. Followed by clean up.
11:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Recall time: using their own journals and methods students will
recall what they did during work time.
11:20 a.m. 12:00 p.m. Outside time or Gym time (Weather Dependent) Students and
teachers will go outside for some fun and exercise on the playground.
12:05 p.m. - 12:40 p.m. Lunch set up, Eating and Clean up. We enjoy lunch as a group
and discuss what has happened so far today.
12:45 p.m. - 2:25 p.m. Peaceful Rest time. Everyone must be on their cot napping,
reading quietly or resting their bodies. The end of rest time is dependent on how much
rest the students require that day. But everyone will be up by 2:30. (Teacher planning
time occurs during nap whenever both teachers have taken their lunch breaks)
2:35 p.m. - 2:55 p.m. Large Group Time includes: music dancing yoga and group games.
3:00 p.m. 3:15 p.m. Small Group Time. Everyone will get into their small groups and
take part in an activity that is based on teacher observations of students interest areas.
Those interest areas are then used to apply to the required curriculum of students.
3:20 p.m. 3:40 p.m. Afternoon snack set up by a teacher, eating and clean up for the
day.
3:45 p.m. 4:00 p.m. End of School Day students who are not in after care depart on
their bus or with their parents.
3:50 p.m. 6:30 p.m. After Care Students play, go outside and socialize until they are
picked up from school.

All bathroom turns are self-regulated by the students, unless otherwise needed. Some students do a
more successful job when they have guidance and a reminder from a teacher. In that class they will be
every two hours as Michigan licensing requires. However, we will happily do it more often if
requested by a parent or guardian.
