FREDERICK SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CELEBRATES THE HOLIDAYS
Holiday Pops Concert Celebrates the Holiday Season

FREDERICK, MDThe Frederick Symphony Orchestra is celebrating the holiday season with
their annual holiday concert to be held on two consecutive days; Saturday, December 13, 2014
at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. The concerts will be held at the J.B.
Kussmaul Theater at Frederick Community College and this years theme is Holiday Pops.
Music selections for both evenings include Babes in Toyland, Fantasia on
Greensleeves, and Sleigh Ride, among other festive choices. The Orchestras own flutists
Paulela Burchill and Linda Moss perform Cimarosa: Concerto in G Major for Two Flutes.
Paulela Burchill has been a flutist in the Frederick Symphony Orchestra for 17 seasons.
She has served on the Board of Directors since 2002 and is currently the orchestras library
manager. She received a B.A. in Music Education from Shepherd College and an M.M.E. from
Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music. Burchill has also performed and continues to
perform with Frederick Strings, Kokopelli Woodwind Quartet, Wedgewood Winds Flute
Quartet, Frederick Childrens Chorus, One God One Voice, and Zion Lutherans Handbell Choir.

Linda Moss has played with multiple orchestras in Frederick County for over 30 years. She is a
member of the Frederick Flute Choir, National Flute Association, and Flute Society of
Washington. Moss is a flute instructor at Duet with Music and a 5
th
grade teacher at New Life
Christian School. She received a B.S. in education at Frostburg State and her M.A. in education
at Hood College.
Andrew Rosenfield will be returning to Frederick to act as guest conductor during the
Holiday Pops concert. Rosenfield currently serves as the chair of the Fine Arts department at
Mount St. Marys University. He is also an Associate Professor of Music at the university, as well
as Director of the Mount St. Marys Chorale and Seminary Choir. He holds a B.A. from Hamilton
College, a M. Mu. From University of Illinois, and a D.M.A. from University of Cincinnati.
Tickets for the 2014-2015 concert season are on sale now. $20, adults; $15, seniors, and
