Technology I will use, what it does, & how I will use it.

1. Google docs in Google Drive- it allows students to work in groups simultaneously on a

project. The teacher can see which student has done what and at what time. **I plan to
use this for groups preparing dialogues for presenting to the class or as a reflection tool
after a group project or a lesson to get feedback. The students will be able to see what
each other is doing and collaborate and see what each other is doing.
2. www.sheppardsoftware.com allows students to test knowledge of geography on
different levels. It also has content related to many other subject areas. ** I plan to use
this when we are studying the 21 Spanish-speaking countries and capitols. The students
will be able to quiz themselves at various levels to master the material and geographical
location.
3. www.polleverywhere.com students can respond to a question through text or email
and it is posted for all to see for the purpose of discussion. ** I plan to use this to post a
do now/bell ringer activity to see what further instruction is needed or at the end of the
chapter to pose a grammar point and have the students post an example as an
evaluation tool for me. The students could even see which responses are correct or
how to correct the incorrect entries.
4. Wordle.net- a group of responses or words can be turned into a word cloud with the
most used words appearing larger. ** I plan to use this when students respond to a
current event and the words that come to mind will start a discussion. I can also give a
topic such as weather and have them post as many vocab words come to mind. That
will give me an idea of what vocab they know and what others I need to use to reinforce
a variety of words.
5. Canvas- a learning management system. **I plan to use canvas to create and grade
quizzes/tests, really for all of next year to post assignments, etc. I will post my web
quest in Canvas so the students can do the Hispanic Artist Project I created. Canvas
does a LOT!
6. Piktochart.com presents information such as graphs and data in picture form. **I plan
to show results from pre and posttest as well as all test data for a nine week period.
This is a great way for students to show immigration from different countries, birthrate,
population, and ethnicity from different countries. This is great for differentiated
instruction.
7. Voki.com a program that will say any input text in another language. Students can
create an avatar to say the text. **I plan to use this with students that are shy and dont
like to talk much so they can hear the language. It will help them to overcome some
barriers in the classroom.
