2012 LED Auto Power Cycling/Reset Issue

Symptom:

- The TV sometimes displays vertical lines on the screen (Images 1 through 3), and then will Power
OFF and ON by itself

OR

- When accessing the Wi-Fi operation either via the network setup/status or through SMARTHUB, the
TV will lock up or Power OFF and ON by itself.

Troubleshooting and Service:

First, check the software version. Make sure the TV has the latest version available. (Refer to GSPN.)

Next, check the error codes in the service menu as this issue can be caused by any of the following
three issues:

If the WD Count (Service Menu>Control>Sub Option) is higher than 0
Check the connector on the SMPS and SMPS cabling. (Refer to Image 4 on page 2.)
If either connector is discolored, replace the SMPS and the cable between the SMPS
and main board. Check closely. The discoloration may be very minor. Image 4 shows
an extreme case.

Next, check the T-Con board connector lot number. (Refer to Image 5 on page 2.)
If the first 6 digits of the lot number are lower than 120531, replace both the LVDS
cable and T-Con board.

Finally, check the AR (Service Menu>Control>Sub Option) and Wi-Fi (Service Menu>SVC)
error count. If both are higher than 0 or if the Wireless Mac address displays Failure
(refer to Image 6 on page 2) in the service menu, replace the Wi-Fi module.
