First Time Setup

Of Your
Microsoft Outlook Profile
1. Introduction
1.1 Follow these instructions the first time you open Outlook on your computer. You also may have
to setup your Outlook profile when logging onto other computers that you have not previously
logged onto. This procedure should only take a few minutes.
1.2 Your mailbox must be created before attempting to start Outlook !ailboxes are automatically
created only once each evening. Your mailbox will usually not be available until the day after
your network account is created.

mail account is created to confirm if you have access to your mailbox and provide assistance if
re(uired.
2. Configure the Outlook Profile
2.1 You must be logged on to the )echtel network using your )echtel uni(ue User Name.
2.2 *f the Outlook icon appears on your desktop go to step 2.". *f the Outlook icon is not on your
desktop or not in your $tart+,rograms+)echtel $tandard #pplications menu- Outlook may not be
installed on your computer. *f Outlook is not installed on your computer- advise the $$!% agent
when you are contacted and the agent will install Outlook for you.
2." .ouble click on your desktop Outlook icon or select Outlook under your $tart+,rograms
menu+)echtel $tandard #pplications. *f you get the following error messages select O/ to
proceed.
2.0 1hen the Microsoft Exchange Server dialog box appears- enter the server name provided by
the $$!% agent or from the list below into the Microsoft Exchange server field.

2.; <ext- enter your )echtel assigned logon id &User Name' in the Mailbox field.
2.9 The dialog box should appear similar to the sample below.
2.: $elect= Check Name.
2.5 The Microsoft Exchange server: and Mailbox: fields change to reflect that your Outlook
setup has been resolved. Your account server and display name will become underlined. This
may take a few minutes.
2.4 $elect= OK.
2.13 The Enter Password dialog box appears next.
2.11 >nter your User name, Domain Name and Password like the sample below.
2.12 $elect= OK.
