Library Associate: Sherri Schleiter

Joy Elementary hosted the Library Media Associates Training this month. Topics
included using the Puppet Pals Program on our
I-PADS, clearing fines and refunds, editing our
school library web page, and making groups in
MackinVIA. Bill McGee from ITT assisted library
associates with the Puppet Pals Program. (Photo
below)

The Joy Library is used for purposes other than
the Library. PLC trainings and Staff meetings
are held in the Library. The After School
Program uses the library for Homework Club.
Parenting Partners is a class conducted in the
library. A School Wide Technology evening
training was held in the library to teach parents
how to use technology.
The library owns a classroom set of dictionaries.
Students in grades 4

and 6
th
developed their
dictionary skills by looking up words from the list
of 55 critical words that students should know
for the Common Core State Standards as listed
by educator Marilee Sprenger.

that non fiction books would be designated, following this system.
