I !ove te entrance to te !ibrary. #e entrance is open and tere is immediate seatin" for c!asses
wit assi"nments and students can come in and use te computers witout disturbin" a c!ass. I saw
a ci!d come in wi!e I was observin" te !ibrary% and e did not disturb te !ibrarian readin" te

4. Circulation/Reference area: Stand at the circulation counter as if you are going to check
out books. What is your impression of the circulation work area? What do you see? What
suggestions do you hae for the area behind the counter? !f this is your work area" you may
hae many good ideas to share and if it is not your work area" you may see een more
clearly# What signage indicates the purpose of this serice desk? The circulation counter
has a lot of aers and boo!s coverin" it. #t loo!s li!e the librarian is
very busy. # don$t have any su""estion for the counter. The
comuter and the boo! dro off slot indicates the urose of the

seem to be related to the librarians %or! and not &ust ersonal aers

# found that there is enou"h seatin" and the study area seems to be in a
"ood location. # am comfortable in the chairs. 'lso, # do not thin! that # %ould

and the comuter tables seem to %or! fine for their sace.

It was easy for me to come in and find te book tat I am !ookin" for. #e !ocation of tin"s seems to be

computers are a!ready set up at te tab!e and it is te same setup as te
computers in te c!assroom. #ere are printers and tey are set up in te
computer !ab wic is !ocated in a room in te !ibrary. Printin" is free for
teacers and students.

am confused wen !ookin" at te se!ves because I am tryin" to find out
wat section I am in. 'en I knee! down I see books on se!ves. I tink
tat I wou!d ave to ask for assistance because I cant te!! wat section I am

#e !ibrarian staff area seems to be convenient for students. #ere is no one to "reat me because te
!ibrarian as a c!ass at tis moment and se is ceckin" books in and out% terefore se must tend to er
ci!dren first. #ere are severa! p!aces for me to sit wi!e I am waitin". #e !ibrarians office or work area is
very or"ani&ed and neat.

I found te bookmarkers% but tey were on te far side of te circu!ation desk. I wou!d assume tat te
ci!dren wou!d need to see te bookmarkers immediate!y if tey are to be used. I didnt see any printed
materia!s about tis !ibrary. I wou!d ave noticed it because it sou!d ave 9 L 6verart !ibrary somewere
a!on" te eadin". I wou!d ask te !ibrarian to create brocures tat advertise and were it is !ocated so tat
students can become fami!iar wit te !ibrary. I wou!d recommend usin" te scoo! co!ors% because tose are
te co!ors of our sirts% sweatsirts% te banners tat !ine te a!!way% and te students parent pick)up ta"s.

!ibrary because tey were :uiet and fu!!y en"a"ed in a story read by te teacer. 4e ten provided an
activity for te ci!dren re!ated to te story and tey a!! participated. #e books are repaired and nice!y in teir
p!aces and te se!ves provide enou" distance for te patrons to maneuver trou". #e decorations in te
!ibrary are very a"e appropriate wit d@cor for eac a"e. #e stuffed anima!s "ive te !ibrary a warm and
ca!min" fee!in" tat make ci!dren fee! tat tis p!ace was desi"ned for tem. #e seatin" is comfortab!e and
te ci!dren rea!!y !ike sittin" on te !ar"e carpet and readin" teir books wit a friend.

appropriate. Litt!e si"ns tat say sports wou!d stop te boys from askin" eac week tey can be sown to te
sports section. 4orter se!ves are needed% but I do understand tat tis issue re!ates to bud"et. (owever% it
is i"!y needed wit sma!! ci!dren. #ey must be seen at a!! times. A!so% updates must be done to continue
to encoura"e te o!der ci!dren to use te 3PAC to searc for books.
