Week i_Pad lesson/activity (Tuesday) Computer session (Thursday)

Register/Evaluation
1 Students to finish HSIE projects from term one. Researching how an
element of life has changed over time and presenting to the class
using Prezi.

Finishing families document from Term 3. Students to open saved
document and finish typing. Teach students how to insert a picture in
MS Word, resize the picture and format the layout. Also teach
students how to insert and colour a text box.

2 Students to finish Maths project from term one.
Creating an i-movie to teach others how to use a Maths strategy.
When completed, groups can present to another class.
MS Word Word art and inserting a table
Students insert word art to create the title All about us. Students
learn to insert a table and to type in that table.
Topic write about five friends (their favourite
movie/food/sport/subject).

3 Photography Fun: crash course in i-Pad photography
Teach students about landscape and portrait photos, as well as
composition (rule of thirds).
Allow students to practise taking photos of things in their everyday
environment and to share their three best images with the class.

Ice-cream in a bag research activity related to procedure unit

Students search the internet for a recipe to make ice-cream in bag.
The recipe is recorded on paper and handed in to the classroom
teacher.

4 Garage Band Jam Session (YouTube) as intro

Children to work with another i-Pad partnership to create and record
a short piece of music. Share with the class
Slime procedure. Students practise skills taught by:
-inserting a word art title
-insert text boxes to add materials and steps
-practise typing
-insert pictures from a shared drive

5 Revision/catch-up

6 All about us hand out worksheet on the following page and allow
students adequate time to complete the projects. Students are
encouraged to ask three peers for help before coming to the teacher.
Students present their projects to the teacher using AirPlay.
Students can spend time using Reading Eggs.

7 Linked to English informative texts unit
Students research the life cycle of an egg laying animal.
Students visit NGA Kids Jungle where they can play around with
creating their own Henri Rousseau artworks Students can then use
Paint to create their own Roussea inspired art.

8 Linked to English informative texts unit
Students gather information about an egg laying animal.
Students complete research for their France travel brochure OR
students can publish a Big Writing response of their choic.

9 Linked to English informative texts unit
Students gather information about an egg laying animal.
