ACADEMIC PROJECT DETAILS:

Fuzzy based SVC for improving power system performance

DESCRIPTION: Efforts to improve steady state and transient stability of
static VAR compensator having its voltage regulator replaced by fuzzy logic
controller.

Worked on MATLAB 7.1 software and first studied the performance of the
system with SVC and taking this performance as reference we replaced the
SVC by fuzzy logic controller we aimed to attain the similar or better
performance. For the same we had to go through rigorous fine tuning. Finally
we succeeded in acquiring steady state stability better than the original
model but had 1% error in transient stability.

REASONS TO USE FUZZY LOGIC:- 1) Faster operation.

2)Manual operation is reduced.

HINDRANCES:- Less accuracy.

Project done with the help of MATLAB 7.1
