There wasnt enough time to make pizza dough, so we used pizza
bases instead. Still there was a lot of preparation to do to make pizza. So I asked , Who wants to help to make pizza? A few children came to help, Sarah was one of them. Every one washed their hands then sat around the table ready to help. Two children already cleaned the table with disinfec- tant spray. All the ingredients were ready to be prepared. Sarah took the capsicum to cut. Then she sliced the tomatoes. I got the pizza bases and tomato sauce then I poured some sauce over the base. Sarah spread the sauce around the pizza base using a spoon. Then it was time to put all the fillings over it. There were a lot of toppings they prepared. Sarah and other children took turns to put sliced tomatoes, capsicums, sausages, olives and last of all grated cheese all over the pizza bases. Sarah was really enjoying this special activity. Throughout this activity sarah was learning to handle a sharp knife while slicing the vegetables, increasing hand-eye co-ordination, developing con- fidene and independence, learning to control hand and finger movements, developing positive attitude towards healthy food, building up self esteem and good relationships with her friends.
