Period 2 17 -Lecture on beginning of the war in 1939. European and Pacific Theater. -Timeline, separate European and Pacific Theater, students write down important events for each theater on their respective timeline. Period 2 18 -1941-1942, textbook reading, European Theater only, take cornel style notes on textbook reading. -Continue working on timeline. Period 2 22 -1941-1942, textbook reading, Pacific Theater only, take cornel style notes on textbook reading. -Continue working on timeline. Period 2 23 -Show students Disney political cartoons on Nazis and their view on Japan. -Discuss students opinions on the cartoons. Period 2 24 -1944, show video on D-Day invasion, video on D-Day Jump, video on Battle of the Bulge, video on Battle of Peleliu. Must take notes on videos. -After watching videos students will write a 1page letter to a love one as if they are a soldier who survived one of these battles. Must choose battle and describe. -Students will go to computer lab to work on their WWII power point project. Period 2 28 -Students will be shown a casualty chart from WWII, discuss the rates between Allies and Axis. -Will watch video clip on Hiroshima and will read secondary source and answer questions. -Will read Point and Counterpoint and write whether or not they would have dropped the bomb and why or why not. Period 2 29 -Students will go to computer lab to work on their power point project Period 2 30 W e e k
