to the southwest of the bay of Bengal
and to the southeast of the Arabian
sea

climate
CLIMATE-most of the time the climate in
Sri Lanka is tropical and warm.
LANDSCAPE-the landscape is

mountainous and referred to as the wet

zone because there is so much rain that
falls.
PRECIPITATION-there is much rain that

falls in Sri Lanka so much that they have

flash floods
WATERWAYS- Sri Lanka has 430 km of

inland waterways, navigable by shallow-

People, government, population, religion,
and dialect
 PEOPLE-are Indian and dress in bright
colors
 GOVERNMENT-the government is a mixture
of presidential system and parliamentary
system
 POPULATION-the population of Sri Lanka in
2003 was estimated by the United
Nations at 19,065,000, which placed it as
number 53 in population among the 193
nations of the world
 RELIGION-they have many different
religions but more than 70% of the
people practice Buddhism .

 Economy, education, and healthcare
system
 ECONOMY- you could say the economy
in Sri Lanka is good. They are famous
for their productions and exports.
 EDUCATION-the education in Sri Lanka is
good. They provide education from
grades 1 to 13 in the same institution
 HEALTHCARE-for healthcare they spent
us$ 105,000,000 in 2006. They don’t
have many doctors but they are doing
ok.
Food and facts about country
 FOOD-the traditional food they eat is
mainly Indian. It is very strange to us
but one of there well known side
dishes is rice.
 FACTS- some facts on Sri Lanka’s
country are there is 94% males ,89%
female, 70% Buddhism, 15%
Hinduism, 8% Christianity, 7% Islam,
and that’s some facts on Sri Lanka’s
country.
