John submitted a letter of resignation on February 24th, 2011. The organization has accepted John's resignation with 24 hours' notice, however according to John's contract he was required to give one month's notice or pay one month's salary in lieu of notice. John has been instructed to hand over any organizational assets in his possession, such as his identity card, office keys, computer, files, and reports, to his department manager Mr. George Mayor.
