that has already reached the borders of San Francisco$ Three %atients
&ere %resented to San Francisco 'eneral e#ergency de%art#ent &ith
sy#%to#s of an unkno&n illness$ In addition( %atients &ith si#ilar
sy#%to#s have been docu#ented in )tlanta( Detroit( and San )ntonio$
)%%arently( the disease etiology re#ains unclear no&* it is believed
that the illness is s%read through direct contact &ith res%iratory
dro%lets and saliva fro# an infected %erson$ There are no kno&n causal

causes are been noted$ 5et( due to the severity of the disease

individuals of those &ho &as diagnosed$ It9s essential to identify any
ne& cases of death of the disease that have occurred$ The %hysicians
that diagnosed the %eo%le that died should be intervie&ed along &ith
the #edical records of the %eo%le$ ,e%orting #akes active
surveillance generally #ore accurate( and this &ill hel% us to di#inish
