Case Study Analysis
Scenario Overview: Our character, Katya, was considered to have been one of the top
performing students in her class. She, like many of us, can sometimes panic just before a major
test. Or any form of test for that matter. There is a state of fear we get of loosing our
scholarships if our grades decline. This may happen to most of us towards the very ending of the
semester, just before the finals week. She is working on her final project before the final, but is
starting to get lost.

My Personal Experience: Like our character, Katya, I to can relate to her anxiety attack just
before her finals week. I am currently taking the Physical Geography class and we are working
on a project, but I am getting a little lost. For instance, in that class we are doing a project on
Thunderstorms and their distribution on a certain landmass. My confusion is that we are
supposed to either pick one of the four different selections from what we are chosen to do, or do
all four selections. Meanwhile, like many other classes, we have projects. There are some major
projects that cost most of our grade. For example, in this class, this project is worth twenty-five
points of our grade. Also, like most people, I to worry about how my grade my turn out on the
ending of the final.

Recommendations: There was an article I read called, Stress and Anxiety Surrounding
Forthcoming Standard Assessment Tests in English Schoolchildren. This article was a study
about how children could react to stress before the S.A.T. tests. Like many college students, the
young people must take the S.A.T. tests to see were they are placed as for schooling. I found this
article closely to our scenario of Katya. Due to the fact that these children taking these tests feel
like their future is at risk. They feel like they may lose that college that they may want to attend
if they get a low-test score.
However, there was another article I read concerning anxiety, or panic attacks. This
article was from the Mental Health Weekly Digest called, New Findings on Panic Disorders
from Catholic University of Louvain Summarized. According to the article "This is the first
study showing that the behavioral response to CO2 that characterises panic disorder patients is
likely due to increased neural sensitivity to CO2 at brainstem level. Researchers found that the
rise in CO2 in the brain is most likely the reason for having anxiety, or panic attack.

Conclusion: If I was to sum up everything up and rap a nice little bow around it. I would say
that we should just try our best in whatever we may do and not let fear destroy our lives. Even
though we may not feel like it maybe so, just the slightest ripple can have a big impact on the
way we live. Truly, that better grade could give us a better GPA, but for some of us, we just
want to graduate school.
