Developmental Domains
By having hands on experience in a classroom, I will see the use of planning
and implementing lessons to strengthen developmental domains in effect.
I will have better knowledge of how to scaffold my students to the next level
of development.
I will have the experience of planning activities based on the domain and with
guidance of ABC Staff they will guide me to implement them.
I will see over time how the lessons will guide children to met each of their
developmental stages and move onto the next level.
Home-School Partnership
I believe that a Childs first teachers and most influential
teachers will be the family.
Having parents and families included in a childs education will
give children a strong support system to blossom as they grow
and learn.
I believe as Educational Professionals it is our job to understand
the families value on developmental beliefs and share with
them ours. Parents and educators working together will
strengthen the bond between families and schools.
I also believe involving parents in events and activities in
schools, as well as having an open door policy to observe their
childs interaction with other students as well as teachers.

Easter Egg Hunt
which I
coordinated this
past Spring.
Positive Guidance
I believe in using positive guidance in encouraging children to learn
Letting them know when they are doing well on a task.
Giving them positive feedback when they are playing cooperatively with other
students.
Reinforcing the idea of what is expected of them in behavior and praising them for
it.

I believe that I have a responsibility for children to receive positive guidance,
but their negative actions will also come with consequences.
Though they will have consequences I will do my best to guide them back into
appropriate and acceptable behavior for their age.

NAEYCs Professional Preparation Standards
As I work in your center, I promise to uphold NAEYCs Professional
Preparation Standards. I will do this by implementing theories and
approaches in learning taught through Ashford, learn from my field
experience a professional attitude towards education. I promise to work
closely with the classroom teachers to guide children through
development and enhance their learning experiences. Use developmental
appropriate practices and not expect more from a child then they are
developmentally ready for. I will help scaffold the children to their next
level of development. Learn how to use documentation and assessments
to appropriately plan for useful curriculum based on the childrens needs
and abilities.
