Now, lets draw a circle
and divide it in two equal
parts...

draw another rectangle
and divide it in three
equal parts...
The red part of the

fraction 1/3 (one third)

Very Good!!! Now lets
draw a circle and divide it
in 4 equal parts...

The red part of the circle
represents a fraction
1/4 (one fourth)



Very Good!!! Now you know
what a Fraction is !!!
Remember that in a fraction
the number below the line
indicates the total number
of equal parts in which an
object is divided

and the number above
the line indicates the
number of parts
selected in that
object...
So, you can represent different
fractions with the same object
For example, look at the
following object...
