o Weather and Climate


- Unit Three: Structures and Properties of Matter Dec.-Feb.

o Matter
o Substances and How They Change


- Unit Four: Space Systems: Stars and the Solar System March-May

o Day and Night
o Seasons
o Stars
o Moon

Assessments and Grade Scale: A variety of assessments are used including
Interactive Student Notebooks (INBs), Exit Slips, Flashbacks, quizzes, chapter/unit tests,
classwork, and homework (when applicable). Your grade will be determined by averaging
these assignments together. Our grade scale will reflect Clark Countys adopted grading scale
and is as follows:

100-90 A
89-80 B
79-70 C
69-60 D
59 or below F


To Be Successful in Science Class:

1.) Come to School

2.) Be on Time

3.) Practice respect for yourself, others, and property.

4.) Come prepared to work. Bring all materials to class everyday.
a. Science INB (composition notebook that will known as your Interactive Notebook)
b. Student Planner/Agenda
c. Pencil
d. Binder
e. Pencil Box w/ creative tools: crayons, markers, glue, etc.

5.) Turn in all assignments: neat, complete, correct, and on-time.

6.) Participate in class discussions and group work.

7.) Remember lab safety rules!

8.) Follow your TEAM rules. (Dream/Believe)
