the international oil pollution prevention certificate issued on a period specified by the administration
should not exceed 5 years this iopp certificate is supplemented to a ship with record of construction and
equipment this certificate show that the ship complies applicable requirement under annex 1 of the
convention that the facilities equipment and structure of ship is in good condition and with respect
satisfactory.
2. Despite of the requirements in paragraph 1 when the renewal survey that includes all the inspection
that ensures the requirement relevance for the satisfactory service of the ship is completed before and
after the expiry of the existing certificate the new certificate is valid but not exceed 5 years from date of
expiry of the existing certificate.
3. Whenever a certificate is issued less than 5 years its validity may extend by the administration to the
maximum period under the paragraph 1 provided the refer in reg. 4 of this annex certificate is issued
the date period of 5 years is carried out appropriately.
4. In circumstances when renewal survey is completed but the new certificate cannot be issued before
the expiry date the person authorized by the administration may endorse the certificate to be valid but
not exceeding 5 years.
