Pictures of The Daily 5 Differentiated Environment

This environment better facilitates differentiated small group learning for all content areas.

Picture 1: Here is a picture of my regular classroom before the changes: desks in teams,
students facing the board and overhead projector, textbooks in desks.

Picture 2: This is my new, differentiated classroom for flexible grouping! Tables replace desks,
and comfy chairs, beanbags, and rugs replace metal seats. The students can work together, or
have a place all their own to concentrate. It works great when teaching to the childs needs.

This is me working with
Raegan on her word work
list of challenge words. She
studies these each day until
shes ready to test on them for
spelling, meaning, and
application.

I love this new room
arrangement very much! It
allows me to work with
individual children, small
groups, and whole groups
more easily. Best of all, every
childs learning is
differentiated in reading,
spelling, writing, and math
now. This was a powerful
project that inspired me to
create meaningful program
design for both my gifted and
non-gifted learners. Thank
you for this experience!
