LITERACY IS
LIKE A BRAID
OF
INTERWOVEN
THREADS...
Educational Background
My undergraduate degree
is in Elementary
Education from Florida
State University. Seven
years later I returned to
graduate school, earning
my rst masters degree in
Educational Leadership
from Northern Arizona
University. In summer
2010, I completed my
second masters degree in
Gifted Education from the
University of Nebraska.
I was born and raised in Winter Park,
Florida--a city melting into the
sprawling area of Orlando. I became
a Seminole at Florida State
University in 1989,
then married my
high school
sweetheart in 1993
to become an Air
Force wife. The
next twenty years
included moves for
our family around
the U.S. and
Pacic: Florida to
California to
Georgia to Florida to Arizona to
Okinawa, Japan to Alabama to
Nebraska to Hawaii. (whew!) These
geographical changes provided a life
education that I consider a complete
blessing. Professional highlights
included teaching students in grades
K-6 around the world, facilitating a
gifted multi-age
class for grades 3-5,
serving as a
Curriculum
Facilitator for
Dept. of Defense
Schools in
Okinawa, and
becoming part of
the Punahou
`Ohana. What a
gift to be able to
blend my prior teaching experiences
with my Geckos interests and needs
so we can enjoy a differentiated
learning environment together!
