Term Paper : Terrorism August 05 2014 Killing in Name Of God.
Killing and God dont go together but in (9/11) thats what happened in America. I still remember exactly what I did that morning in my country. I was in my last year of High school and was seventeen years of age when someone came running into our classroom and told us that an airplane has crash into the Trade Center, No one knew what really has happened. until a 2nd airplane has also crash right next after the other one. Everyone was really concern that something wrong was going on, Our teacher then turn on the TV and thats when we knew that this was all over the news and also in many other countries they were all saying American has just been attack!!! I have just heard a word on the news (Terrorism) we have never heard of this word before. Thirteen years later has past since the attack on American. our teacher of Criminal Justice showed us interesting videos about Terrorism and how Osama Been Laden and his crew has been planning when and how to attack America, these videos were from National Geographic Channel and were four hours long the way they explain 9 /11. What is terrorism, Terrorism has been described variously as both a tactic and strategy; a crime and a holy duty; a justified reaction to oppression and an inexcusable abomination. Obviously, a lot depends on whose point of view is being represented. Terrorism has often been an effective tactic for the weaker side in a conflic What this definition means to me is that anyone or everybody could be (Terrorist). Which anyone could attack anyone and any country if they wish too, But doesnt mean that only one
race that comes from a different country isnt always a Terrorist we all have a say in this world. At the beginning of the national geographic channel they explain how it first started in 1993. Osama Been Laden the president of Al-Qaeda, planned a killer bomb in a car just outside the twin towers to destroy it but Osamas plan has failed. It wasnt powerful to destroy the twin towers since then Osama declare the war to America . Osamas group were having meetings all over the world speaking in different languages so no one could find out about his plans. The president of Terrorism has been described variously as both a tactic and strategy; a crime and a holy duty; a justified reaction to oppression and an inexcusable abomination. Obviously, a lot depends on whose point of view is being represented. Terrorism has often been an effective tactic for the weaker side in a conflic has seek out four young men and has ordered them to give their lives for their god in order to complete his attack on America. Years has past since the first attack on America, Osamas meetings and plans were complete, after spending many years training his men. He had some every important ideas to where he wanted to attack. The time was here it was 9/11/2001 no one knew anything ,everyone was living their normal lives like every other day.. Four young men and their team from different cities around America just bought tickets everything was falling into plans. Hours later these four men has just hijack four airplanes, Which each of these airplanes were going to different areas first two airplanes headed to the twin towers third aircraft headed to the CIA , and fourth aircraft was headed to the White House. The National Geographic explains step by step what they exactly did while they were flying. Phone calls started coming in from the victims, But it was to late when the first airplane has hit
and crash into the twin towers. People didnt knew it was a Terrorist attack until the second airplane crash the second tower. People of New York City was all in panic, around three thousand people died and hundreds were hurt. Two more planes on their way to lethal destiny, one hit it only the outside of the CIA Building , the other one will crash in the woods . Why did this happened to America ? Authorities and the world in general could not believe it , and after that attack nothing will be the same . According with our text book page 578 Anti- Terrorist In Action 5 of the hijackers Nawaf Alhazmi ,Hani Hanjour and 3 more had expired visas and they could still travel around the country in planes with out of problems . After the 9/11 the Department of Homeland Security created remedy a program call US-VISIT which started in 2004 and uses technology to make foreigners with visas are subject of fingerprinting and facial scan using digital cameras , Their names are also checked against criminal records and suspect of terrorism .and this is only one of the more different laws agains the terrorism . For conciliation I can say that this class help me to understand the better why the laws and the governed rules change, and how that affect no only the ones who are involute but affect every one of us and i can see how the system try to serve better to all the citizens with all the examples that are in our text book and that for some people commit a crime can be part of their religion and according with them and their culture they will be in haven and according with the justice here in our country this same people can go to prison the rest of their lives .

Maria Pesantez Critical Thinking : Death Penalty : Blood in Blood out Maria Pesantez Blood in Blood out
Taking about the death penalty is no a easy topic and more if we are here in Utah where the majority of citizens are part of the L.D.S. church and this one teaches to forgive anyone who had offend us, but at the same time kill one who had commitment a crime is acceptable, playing a
double morality .in fact Utah is one of the states which the death penalty is acceptable in part of it legislature, thats is how we want to raise our kids with hate and revanche? I found some good information about this topic in one article let explore this topic: Capital punishment is legal in the U.S. state of Utah. Since 1850, a total of at least 50 individuals have been executed in Utah. A total of 9 people are under a sentence of death in the state as of June 20, 2010. The current method is lethal injection. Aggravated murder is the only crime subject to the penalty of death under Utah law. Utah was the first state to resume executions after capital punishment was reinstated in the United States in 1976, when Gary Gilmore was executed by a firing squad on January 17, 1977.[1] Gilmore, however, demanded his own execution, that is after being convicted of murder and sentenced to death. According to some the real end of national moratorium took place in Florida in 1979 with electrocution of John Arthur Spenkelink, who resisted his execution.[2] Reintroduction of capital punishment[edit] A rally at the Utah State Capitol protests the execution of Ronnie Lee Gardner. Utah formally reinstated capital punishment on January 7, 1973.[3] Earlier death penalty statutes were struck down by the 1972 United States Supreme Court decision in the case Furman v. Georgia.[4] The state's new death penalty statutes were approved by the United States Supreme Court with the reinstatement of capital punishment in 1976, allowing Utah to proceed with the executions of Dale Selby Pierre and William Andrews. Both were convicted and sentenced to death for crimes committed in 1974 prior to the reinstatement of capital punishment. They were executed 1987 and 1992 respectively. The last pre-Furman execution in Utah took place on March 30, 1960. Process[edit] Typically, the jury decides the sentence and may give a sentence of death, life imprisonment without parole, or a lesser sentence. In Utah, a defendant in a capitol case has the option of choosing a jury or a bench trial (with the judge deciding verdict and sentence alone). This has happened once, in the case of John Albert Taylor, who waived his jury right and was convicted and sentenced to death in 1989 by 2nd District Court Judge David Roth in Weber County. Clemency rests with the State of Utah Board of Pardons and Parole and the Governor of Utah sits on the board, which makes Utah one of a handful states where the Governor has no sole power to grant clemency.[5] As of 2008 no commutation of the death sentence has been given in Utah.[5] As in any other state, people who are under 18 at the time of commission of the capital crime[6] or mentally retarded[7] are constitutionally precluded from being executed. Method[edit] Executions in Utah are currently performed at the Utah State Prison in Draper, Utah by lethal injection. The firing squad is also available for three death row inmates who chose it prior to that option's elimination in 2004.[8]
History of the Death Penalty, famous cases,Ronnie Lee Gardner became the third person in the modern era to be executed by firing squad in 2010. After the class that i been taking I think that death penalty is not a good punishment to any person i believe in rehabilitation although many people think the opposite, because this is only teaching us how to hate other humans been and dont be capable to control those bad individuals.
