Resolution of Censure for Racially Divisive
Campaigning by Henry Barbour
WHEREAS, the Republican Party is the Party of Lincoln; and
WHEREAS, the Democrat Party is the party of segregation and Jim Crow laws, and
WHEREAS, the Left has used racially divisive and hateful efforts to smear Republicans for forty
years, and
WHEREAS, ads and robocalls were produced and run in Mississippi that mirrored race-baiting
tactics in Missouri in 2000 and other places, and
WHEREAS, the Republican Party does not tolerate these types of attacks as acceptable in
political discourse and will not tolerate these in the future, and
WHEREAS, Henry Barbour, national committeeman from Mississippi, has willfully engaged in
these attacks and deplored others; NOW THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED, the Republican National Committee censures Henry Barbour for his role in the
conduct of the June 2014 Mississippi primary election.
