TOYOTA
Motor Sports Passion

Toyotas
motor sports quest began with participation in the Australia Rally in 1957. We subsequently
continued to play an active part on the international stage, taking part in the World Rally
Championship (WRC) from 1972, the Le Mans 24-hour race from 1985, and the Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) series
from 1996. Realizing a new dream, in January 1999, Toyota announced its participation in Formula One, the worlds premier auto
racing competition. Toyota finally took the first step toward this new challenge in March 2002, when it competed in the Australian
Formula One Grand Prix as full constructorindependently building the entire racing car, including engines and chassis.
By entering these races, Toyota hopes to share with people all over the worldnot just motor sports fansthe dreams and
aspirations offered by the world of cars. At the same time, we want to increase the number of Toyota devotees by aggressively
showcasing our technical prowess and brand image, both at home and abroad. For Toyota, which has grown in tandem with the
development of automobiles, as well as being part of its contribution to society, investment in motor sports will also boost the
Companys long-term corporate value. No matter what the era, Toyotas mission is to continue to be a Company that is able to
offer people dreams and passion.
