Warmups.TheWarmUpwillbelocatedontheboard.TheWarmUpistobecompletedupon

1)Warmups:Eachdayyouwillhavefivetotenminutestoworkonawarmup.EveryFridayyouwillturnin
thewarmupsforthatweek.Warmupswillbegradedbythefollowingcriteria:underliningandidentifying
importantinformation,showingyourworkandusingappropriateformulasandprocesses,andeliminatinganswer
choices.Thewarmupgradewillbecountedasadailygrade.
2)Notes&ClassroomWork:Classroomassignmentswillbegivenintheformofworksheets,bookwork,group
work,etc.Noteswillalsobeturnedinperiodicallytocheckyournotetakingstrategies.Notes&classroomwork
willbecountedasadailygrade.
3)Projects:Groupprojectswillbeassigned.Allworkwillbeduethedayyoupresenttotheclass.Projectswill
countasamajorgrade.
4)Homework:Allhomeworkwillbeduethedayafteritisassigned,unlessinstructedotherwise.Ifnotturnedin
onappropriateday,Iwilltake10percentagepointsoffeachdayitislate.Assignmentscouldbegraded
completely,randomlyselectedproblems,percentcomplete,etc.Homeworkwillcountasahomeworkgrade.
5)InteractiveNotebookChecks:InteractiveNotebookcheckswillbegivenperiodicallythroughouteachunit.
Theyaredesignedtoholdyouaccountableforyournotetakingskills,becausewedonothaveatextbookforthis
class.TwoorthreequestionswillbepulledstraightfromtheInteractiveNotebookforthehomeworkcheck.You
canuseyourNotebookasreference.InteractiveNotebookcheckswillcountasamajorgrade.
6)Quizzes:Quizzeswillbegivenrandomlytoassessyourknowledgeandunderstandingofconcepts.Quizzes
willcountasamajorgrade.
7)Tests:Testswillbegiven.Youwillbegivenadvancednoticeoftests.Usehomework,quizzes,classroom
work,notesfromyourInteractivenotebooks,andwarmupstostudyforthetests.Testgradeswillbebasedon
yourworkandyouranswers.Partialcreditwillbegiven.Duringatesttherewillbenotalkinguntileverytestis

importantinformation.JustlikeabuildingyoumusthaveafirmfoundationinAstronomy.Itisimportantthatyou
attendclasseverydayandcontributetodiscussions.Itisalsoimportantthatyoucomepreparedwithyourhomework
andbereadytocontributetoclass.
*Tardinessisalsotakenseriously.Itisimportanttobeontime.Whentardytoclassyoumustsigninonthetardy
sheets.Ialsorecordyourtardiness,sowhetherornotyousignthesheet,yourtardinessisstillbeingrecorded.The
sheetisjustforyourrecord.YouwillearnaDHallforeverytardy,beginningwiththefourthtardy.Notardiesatthe
endofasixweekperiodwillgiveyoufivepointsoneachmajorgrade.
*Everysixweeksyouwillbeallowedtwobathroompasses.Onceyouuseyourallottedpassesyoucantakeatardyin
tradeforabathroompass.
