SITE VISIT TO AMANAH MALL:


We have visited the construction site of AMANAH SHOPPING MALL on Friday 12
th
Feb, 2012 on Friday.
The Site is located at retail District of Model Town Link Road, Lahore.This project is Owned and Processed
by AMANAH Group of Companies. The land area of the project site is 10 canals.AMANAH MALL is a
Ground plus four stories shopping mall. Non displacement End bearing Reinforced pile foundation.
OBSERVATIONS:
There are about 307 Piles that are going to be executed. Piles are bored at the outer periphery of the
Mall.Out of 307, 94 piles have been constructed.The length of the pile is about 63ft. Diameter of the pile
is 2ft.These are Non-displacement End-bearing Reinforced Piles. The structural load is transmitted
through piles into the lower harder strata.The boring has been done by Reverse Rotary method.

Reinforcement




Circular spacers are poured. They are attached to the outer side of reinforcement to provide cover for concrete.

BINDING MATERIAL used is cement, crush and sand. Sand source is from Ravi fill (fine sand) and Lawrance
Pur (coarser sand). Cement used is FAUJI Cement.




Mixer machine is used to mix the binding materials (cement, sand and crush).Pile # 217 is going to be poured
when we visited the site.Tremie pipe is used to pour the concrete into the bored hole. The Tremie pipe is
extended downward into the bore hole and kept immersed in concrete so that no Segregation occurs.A large
cone shaped bucket with an opening at the bottom is provided. The concrete from mixer machine is poured into
the bucket. The bucket is then lifted by crane and held over the tremie pipe and then mouth of cone is opened
and concrete is allowed to fall down under the action of gravity. The concrete is followed by tremie pipe. The
other end of tremie pipe is immersed in concrete to avoid segregation.
