Please reIer to the list oI important dates Ior our 2014-2015 Academic School Year calendar when making travel
plans Ior your child. All students are required to be at school no earlier than 9:00 am on Tuesday, September 2 Ior
registration and orientation.
Throughout the year, Iamilies are expected to adhere to the scheduled departure and arrival times set Ior students.
Students are not allowed to stay on campus during break periods or return to campus prior to the published
return dates and times as the building will not be open and staIIed.
The number oI contact hours spent in the classroom is important to your child's academic success. For this reason
we discourage unexcused absences. An unexcused absence Irom school is an absence that is not Ior a Iamily
emergency, religious commitment or Ior school sponsored events including athletic competitions. Any absence
Ior events other than school sponsored events must be approved by the Academic Dean and a Leave Form
must be completed. The result oI missing classes due to an unexcused absence is that the student will not be
allowed to make up any missed work including assessments and homework. The school will not instruct Iaculty
to give alternative opportunities to compensate Ior missed work. This policy is stated in the NSA 2014-2015
Community LiIe Handbook. See this Ior additional inIormation.
National Sports Academy provides a shuttle to and Irom the Albany International Airport at the start and end oI
school breaks. The shuttle is available to all students who make a reservation with the Director oI Residential LiIe
two weeks prior to the departure date. The Iee is $150 per student. II your child needs transportation other than
the NSA Albany Shuttle it is the responsibility oI the parents to arrange and pay Ior these trips. NSA will assist
parents with independent travel arragements by sharing a list oI transportation options.
Sincerely,
NSA StaII & Faculty
