Todays story pattern
was discovered by
Joseph Campbell in
1949.

After studying many cultures myths, Campbell
said most of them boiled down to the same
basic story. He called this the monomyth (one
story)

certain recurring character types that we call
archetypes. Though they make look very
different in different stories, they have the
same basic job in the story
