This TPI replaces D-40-40 C-3

SHD100 / SHD100-T / SHD101-T5 / SHO100 / SHO100-T / SHO101-T5

We have received a number of cases where the electrical capacitor has exploded in the SHD sensors
if connected to AC. Sensors connected to DC works OK.

Replacement procedure

Note: All sensors, which are already powered and functional, should not be replaced.

Order new sensors from WLC, which will be invoiced. You will get a credit note when the defected
or not used sensors is send back to WLC. For those who already send defected sensors to WLC
there will not be any invoice, you will get an replacement product The hole replacement procedure
will take 3 to 4 weeks. During this period the delivery time will differ from normal.

The cause to malfunction
1) From manufacturing date of 14
th
of June 2005 a conventional wired diode was changed to a
SMD diode. The technical datas are fully equal, exceptional in one point, which is the
resistance against high switch-on-currents.
.
2) There was a malfunction in the final factory test equipment, which caused a to high switch-
on-current and stress the rectifier diode above its limitations.

This is relevant only for AC-applications. In DC-applications, independent on 0-10 V or 4-20 mA
output this problem can not happen.

Applying 24V AC, this is a destroying error, so that all Humidity transmitters, which are already
powered and in function, will work without influencing the measurement.
