English I Composition Policy

2014-15

In order to provide the very best possible writing program for our students, English III has
adopted the following policies:
I. General Composition Policy All composition must be completed in the English
classroom. No composition assignment is to be completed off campus or in another
class on campus.


II. Computer Use
a. English computer files may be accessed only under the supervision of the
students English teacher.
b. English files may not be accessed in any location (home, another classroom) that
is not under the direct supervision of the students English teacher.


III. Plagiarism and Collusion
a. Penalty: a zero for the assignment and the teacher may assess a reduction in
the conduct grade for the six weeks
b. Plagiarism in composition consists of using someone elses ideas or phrases and
representing those ideas or phrasing as your own, either on purpose or through
carelessness. Collusion is helping another student write a composition or any part
of it or allowing another student to copy your own composition, again either on
purpose or through carelessness.
