Thank you for the opportunity to teach your child. I am looking forward to getting
to know your child and helping them learn more about geometry. My hope is to
teach them skills that will be beneficial for the rest of their lives.

Notebooks-this will be used for an interactive notebook and will count as a project
grade
Pencils (students might also want a folder to hold warm-ups, quizzes, and
homework)

Calculators
TI 84 Plus Calculators are used at school. Students have the privilege of using
them at school only.

Homework
Students will have homework every night unless a test is given. Please encourage
your child to complete all his/her assignments. Homework helps students master a
topic. Geometry moves quickly and homework is the best method for practicing.

Mrs. Carters Class Rules
1. In my classroom, we do choices. Everything you do is your choice, however
bad choices do have consequences.
2. MISD dress code will be enforced in the classroom every period.
3. Consequences for being tardy will be enforced every period per MISD policy.
4. Students will be assigned a desk and calculator for use during the class
period. Students will be responsible for damage to assigned calculators. Remember
using a calculator is a privilege not a requirement.
5. Students are not allowed to leave the classroom during the first 45 minutes
of class time per MHS policy. Students may only use the restroom on the second
floor of C Hall. Students who abuse the privilege by staying out of the classroom
for longer than 5 min will lose bathroom privileges.
6. Students with any absences (excused or unexcused) or more than 3 tardies
per semester for the class period will not be exempt from the semester exam. (An
absence is defined as missing more than 25 minutes of a class period. Early release
for a doctor/dental appointment may result in an absence).
7. Mrs. Carter has a Zero Tolerance for cheating. If you are caught cheating
on test, quizzes, or homework, you will receive a ZERO.
8. Homework will be given every day! I will only accept two homework
assignments late each six weeks.
