Council of International Students Australia Releases Program for 3rd Annual National Education Conference
Industry Stakeholders to Focus on Enhancing International Student Experience 8 - 10 July in Sydney The Council of International Students Australia (CISA), Australias peak student representative organisation for international students, today released the full program for the upcoming CISA National Conference 2013. Bringing together student leaders, education institutions, government representatives, and other international education consultants and advisors, the CISA National Conference sessions will focus on enhancing the student experience by sharing best practices and finding solutions to common issues facing all stakeholders. Held on 8-10 July, the 2013 conference will feature the launch of several key projects including the CISA Good Practice Program for Education Providers, the Allianz Global Assistance Student Welcome Services online training site, CISAs International of the Year Award and CISAs I am not Australian, but I have an Australian Story project. Our national conference provides a unique opportunity to have all the right voices in one place, sharing what has worked, what we need to address, all for the betterment of the international student experience, said Aleem Nizari, National President of CISA. By hearing directly from the students, university leaders, government officials, and education advisors can better understand the challenges and create solutions to ensure Australia continues to provide a great home for international students. Other conference sessions will cover a wide range of professional development training for international student leaders including cross cultural leadership, career and employment development and the ESOS Act. The CISA National Conference 2013 runs 8-10 July at the Sydney Institutes TAFE Ultimo campus (651-731 Harris St, Ultimo NSW 2007). Today, CISA speaks for more than 500,000 international students currently studying in Australian education institutions including universities, TAFE, private colleges, and ELICOS. CISA maintains close consultations with various Federal and State government departments (including the recently concluded NSW International Education Industry Taskforce), education providers, peak education sector bodies such as International Education Associations of Australia (IEAA), Universities Australia, ISANA, English Australia, TAFE Directors Australia, Australian Council for Private Education & Training (ACPET) and a number of other education industry associations at regional, national and international levels.
