PROSPECTUS FOR ENTRANCE TEST CUM ADMISSION INTO POST BASIC
B.Sc., NURSING 2 YEARS DEGREE COURSE FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2014-15

REGULATIONS
1. These Regulations are applicable for conduct of Entrance Test and for admission into
Competent Authority Seats in Government and Private Nursing colleges
2. All the Candidates shall qualify in the Entrance Test for admission into Post Basic B.Sc., (N)
2 years Degree Course for admission into Government Colleges, Competent Authority
Seats in Private Colleges and Management Quota seats in Private Colleges.
3. The Rank in the Post Basic B.Sc., (N) Entrance Test conducted by Dr. NTR University of
Health Sciences shall be the basis for selection into Post Basic B.Sc., (N) 2yd course into
Government Colleges, Competent Authority Seats in Private Colleges and Management
Quota seats in Private Colleges.
4. The Post Basic B.Sc., Nursing Degree Course is 2 years Course for Women Candidates
only. The Seats in Government Colleges are only for Government Service Candidates.
5. The names of the Nursing Colleges to which these regulations are applicable and the
number of seats available are as in Annexure I, subject to affiliation for the academic year
2014-15.
NOTE:
a) The final distribution of seats among various categories, University Area wise for
admission into Post Basic B.Sc., (N) 2YD Course will be displayed at the time of
counseling.
b) In case any new Colleges are affiliated to the University / any college is permitted by
the Govt. of India for the academic year 2014-15, the seats in those colleges also will
be filled up. NO FURTHER NOTIFICATION WILL BE ISSUED.

6. APPLICATIONS FOR ENTRANCE TEST:

6.1 The Candidates shall apply online for Entrance Test. The application will be available on
the website i.e., http://ugntruhs.in

6.2 The on-line application form will be available on the website http://ugntruhs.in from
16.08.2014 to 28.08.2014 by 5.00 PM.

Note: The candidates are advised to take a print out of the prospectus / instructions to fill the
application form from the website http://ntruhs.ap.nic.in or from http://ugntruhs.in before
proceeding to fill the application form.

6.3 The candidate should fill the online application form available in the Website with the data
required-for, through internet. The online application form can be filled through any
computer with internet connection (home / internet caf / net center). The candidate is
advised to fill the online application form after going through the prospectus by keeping all
the Certificates, Scanned Photo with signature at the bottom of the photo (as shown below)
(step-1) and ready to enter his/her correct data and upload the photo after the payment of
e-challan in any State Bank of India branch.

6.3.1 1. The generation of e-challan through online after submitting the personal details and
category through Get Challan Link in the wesite (Sample Screen as shown below).
2. The candidate has to pay the amount indicated in the e-challan at any branch of State
Bank of India and submit the application using the link Submit Application as shown
above.

3. The fee paid by the applicants is not refundable under any circumstances.
4. The system generated Application No is displayed for future reference.
5. If candidate is unable to view PDF document download the Adobe Reader.
6. The candidate has to pay the fee in any State Bank of India branch on or before
28.08.2014 using the challan before 05.00 PM

6.3.2 HOW TO SUBMIT APPLICATION
! After payment of fee at State Bank of India, applicants have to visit the website
(http://ugntruhs.in) on next working day to submit the application
! The login screen will appear for the candidate to validate the payment details. The
following screen will be displayed. The screen will ask for Application No as login
Id and Date of Birth (DDMMYYYY) as password (Example: 02101984) to proceed
for the application submission.

! If the candidate is tried to fill the application before payment of the challan in bank,
she will be informed with the message Please wait, You have not paid the fee /
Your challan information is not updated from the bank, please wait upto 12.00
Noon of the next date of challan paid date. (sample Screen shot as below)



Note : Bank challan information will be updated every next day at 12.00 Noon for the applicants
who paid the fee today. (for ex. For the candidates who paid the fee on 16.06.2014 will
be updated on 17.06.2014 at 12:00 Noon)

6.3.3 Applicant can also see the display of message Fields marked with * are compulsory and
all such fields shall be failed and can not be left blank. Click on OK button to proceed to
fill the online form to fill the application.
6.3.4 The candidate will be allowed to take a copy of printout at any time, but editing / adding
information is not allowed once the application is submitted.
6.3.5. Sample Screen Shots for uploading Photo with Signature
The applicant has to upload her Photo with Signature in the prescribed format by clicking
on the browse button in the application form. By clicking on browse button the following screen
appears.



6.3.6. Click on the scanned and stored photograph Sample Image (JPEG image) to upload
from local machine.
6.3.7 By clicking on file Sample Image, the image is automatically displayed as File name.
Click on Open button the following screen will be displayed. Applicants have to type the
security code in the given box as displayed in the image as shown in the fig below before
previewing the entered data in the application. Then click on Upload button to check the
quality of photograph.
6.3.8 Click on Check box to give declaration. Click on Continue button to proceed further.

6.4 After completing the data entry in all pages of the online application and after submitting the
data through online, the candidate should take the print-out of the filled-in online application
form. The candidate should note the application number and e-challan number which
appears on the printout of application for future reference.
6.5 The candidate should paste a recent passport size photograph (identical to the photo that
used for scanning) in the space provided in the print out of online application form and to be
attested by a gazetted officer.
6.6 The candidate should enclose the attested copies of required Certificates, State Bank of
India e-challan University copy (original) for Rs.1050/- for OC/BC categories and Rs.850/-
for SC/ST categories to the print-out of the online application form in support of her claim.
6.7 The candidate should sign at the declaration area in the print out of the online application
form and also put left hand thumb impression at the space provided without fail.

6.8 LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF PRINTOUT OF FILLED-IN ONLINE APPLICATION
FOR REGISTRATION IS 05.00 p.m. on 30.08.2014.

6.8.1 The candidate should submit the print-out of the filled-in online application alongwith the
attested copies of required certificates and State Bank of India e-challan (university copy)
towards the registration fee to The Convener, UG Admissions Committee,
Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, A.P. Vijayawada 8 either by post or in person
on or before 30.08.2014 by 5.00 PM. The candidate shall clearly superscribe on the cover
the name of the course applied for: PBNET-2014.
6.8.2 Application forms received without copies of the required Certificates, e-challan (university
copy) towards Registration Fee, incomplete applications, without signing declaration
applications received after last date and time will stand automatically rejected. Postal delay
or loss in transit will not be condoned. Application forms of ineligible candidates will be
summarily rejected.
6.8.3 The filled in application forms received after the time and the date specified above shall be
rejected. The Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences shall not be responsible for non
receipt of application or for its delay in postal transit or loss in transit.
6.8.4 Applications unaccompanied by required certificates, application with incomplete entries
and applications from ineligible candidates shall stand rejected automatically. The amount
paid towards Registration of application shall not be refunded under any
circumstances. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

7. ELIGIBILITY FOR ENTRANCE TEST:

7.1 The candidates should be of Indian Nationals or persons of Indian origin (P.I.O) /
Overseas citizen of India (OCI) card holders or Foreign Nationals. The P.I.Os, OCI
Card holders and Foreign Nationals shall submit No Objection Certificates from
Nursing Council of India for admission into Post Basic B.Sc., Nursing course.
7.2 Only Women Candidates are eligible for admission into Post Basic B.Sc., (N)
2 Years Course.

7.3. Education Qualifications:

1. Candidates seeking admission into Post Basic B.Sc., (Nursing) Course should have
passed Intermediate Examination.
or
Any other equivalent examination (10+2 pattern) recognized by the University in A.P.
or Board of Intermediate Education Andhra Pradesh.
AND
2. Should have passed General Nursing and Midwifery from an institution recognized by
the Govt. of A.P. or Nursing Council of India and shall be registered with the State
Nursing Council.

(Eligibility Criteria is as per G.O.Ms.No.269, HM & FW (K2) Dept., Dt. 30-11-2009 as
amended in G.O.Ms.No.194, HM & FW (K2) Dept., Dt. 07-07-2011, G.O.Ms.No.40, HM &
FW (K2) Dept., Dt.18-02-2012 and G.O.Ms.No.33, HM & FW (K1) Dept., Dt.05-03-2013).


3 Government Service Candidates: Should have completed 2 years of service as a staff
nurse in Medical and Health Department and Andhra Pradesh Vidya Vydya Parishad
as on 31.07.2014. Service certificate as a staff nurse should be enclosed issued by
the respective employer and must be a regular employee. Service certificate,
regularization orders as staff nurse should be enclosed.


7.4 Age: Candidate should have completed 17 years of age and should not be more than 45
years of age as on 31

December of the year of admission. In case of SC / ST
Candidates the maximum age shall be relaxed by 3 years.
Note: 1. Candidates born on or after 02-01-1998 are not eligible as they do not complete
17 years of age.
2. Candidates born on or before 31-12-1969 are not eligible as they are over aged
and in case of SC/ST candidates born on or before 31-12-1966 are not eligible.
3. A person born on 1st January of a year will complete one year on 31
st
December
of the same year.
4. Age shall be calculated on the basis of date of birth as indicated in the Secondary
school Certificate examination or equivalent examination.
5. No request for relaxation of age of a candidate shall be entertained.


8. ENTRANCE TEST:

8.1 As per G.O.Ms.No.33, HM & FW (K1) Dept, dated.05.03.2013 The candidates seeking
admission into Management Quota Seats also shall have to appear for the common
Entrance Test conducted by the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences and shall qualify
for admission into Management Quota Seats.

8.1.1 The selection of candidates for admission is based common Entrance Test which
consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). The Multiple Choice Questions will be
one best response type with four alternatives.
8.1.2 The standard of the examination will be that of GNM course.

8.1.4 The Entrance Test shall be conducted in English.
8.1.5 The duration of the test is one and half hour.
8.1.6 The Qualifying marks for Entrance Test will be 40% for OC,
BC candidates and 30% for SC, ST Candidates
8.1.7 The Entrance Test will be conducted on 14.09.2014 (Sunday) from
11.00 A.M. to 12.30 PM at Osmania Medical College, Koti, Hyderabad & V.R.
Siddhartha Engineering College, Kanuru, Vijayawada.
8.1.8 The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, A.P. shall constitute an
Entrance Test Committee for conduct of Entrance Test and for making selections for
admission into Post Basic B.Sc., (N) Course.
8.1.9 All the candidates registered shall appear for the Entrance Test on the date notified
by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, and shall qualify themselves therein to
eligible for admission after selection into Post Basic B.Sc., (N) course.
8.1.10 The marks obtained by the Candidates in the Entrance Test shall be considered for
the purpose of fixing the merit ranking.

8.1.11 In case of equality of marks in Entrance Test, the percentage of marks in GNM i.e.,
the qualifying examination shall be taken into consideration and the candidates who
got higher marks shall be given higher place.
8.1.12 In case of equality of marks in the Entrance Test and the percentage of marks in
GNM, the age shall be taken into consideration and the elder candidate shall be
given higher place in the merit list
8.1.13 The Entrance Test will be conducted at Osmania Medical College, Koti, Hyderabad
and at V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College, Kanuru, Vijayawada and the eligible
candidates are advised to opt the Test Center.

8.2. ISSUE OF HALL TICKETS:

The eligible candidate shall download the Hall Ticket from the website http://ugntruhs.in
from 10.00 A.M. to 05.00 P.M on 11.09.2014 and 12.09.2014 by entering Application
Number and Date of Birth as (DDMMYYYY).
Ex: 1. Login ID : Application Number
2. Password: DDMMYYYY.
Ex. If the Date of Birth of the candidate is 03
rd
January, 1980 enter as 03 01 1980.

8.3 UNFAIR MEANS IN THE ENTRANCE TEST:

8.3.1 Hall Ticket is not transferable. The Hall Ticket shall not be tampered.
8.3.2 A person shall not Impersonate a candidate.
8.3.3. Candidates should not bring Calculators, Pagers, Cell Phones, Computers, Bluetooth
or any other electronic gadget whether it is concerned with the examination or not
except the Hall Ticket.
8.3.4 Candidate should not possess papers, books or notes or written notes or any type of
electronic gadgets on his clothes, body or table or chair, which is relevant to the
examination.
8.3.5 Candidate should not talk to another candidate or person inside or outside the
examination hall without permission even after a warning by the invigilating staff.
8.3.6 Candidate should not show her answer book to another candidate or if she shall not
receives, attempts to receive help from any source, including consulting books, notes
or papers or any other matter outside the exam hall or has given help or attempted to
give help.
8.3.7 No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall before completion of 1 1/2
hour (one and half hours) after commencement of the examination. Before leaving,
the candidates must return to the invigilator the OMR answer sheet.
8.3.8. On completion of answering the questions, she should seek the permission of the
invigilator and leave the hall, only after handing over the OMR answer sheet to the
invigilator.

8.4 Violation of any one or all of the above instructions will be considered as malpractice.

8.4.1. Any candidate resorting to malpractice in the Entrance Examination will have her
examination invalidated and will be disqualified from appearing for Post Basic
Entrance Examination for the next 3 years.
8.4.2. If a person impersonates a candidate, she will be disqualified from appearing for any
Entrance examination for five years and if she is not on university rolls, will not be
admitted to any course for five years and the criminal case will be lodged against her
in the police station, the candidate who is impersonated also will be disqualified for 5
years.
8.4.3. Any items such as Calculators, Pagers, Cell Phones, Computers, Bluetooth or any
other electronic gadget found with candidate will be seized and will not be returned.

8.4.4. Malpractice committee constituted will examine all cases of malpractice reported and
will recommend necessary further action.

8.5 MERIT LIST:

8.5.1 The committee for evaluation of answer scripts and preparation of merit list will be
constituted by the University. The answer scripts will be valued mechanically and a
common merit list of the candidates qualified on the basis of marks obtained in the
Entrance Test shall be prepared.
The merit lists will be displayed on the Notice Boards of the University.
8.5.2 The OC and BC candidates shall secure minimum of 40% marks and SC/ST Candidates
30% marks in the Entrance Test are only eligible for admission.
8.5.3 The marks obtained by the Candidates in the Entrance Test shall be considered for the
purpose of fixing the merit ranking.
8.5.4 In case of equality of marks in Entrance Test, the percentage of marks in GNM i.e., the
qualifying examination shall be taken into consideration and the candidates who got
higher marks shall be given higher place.
8.5.5. In case of equality of marks in the Entrance Test and the percentage of marks in GNM,
the age shall be taken into consideration and the elder candidate shall be given higher
place in the merit list.

8.6 PUBLICATION OF RESULTS:

The list of provisionally successful candidates along with their marks, categories and
ranks shall be notified in the Notice Board and Website of Dr. NTR University of Health
Sciences Office, Vijayawada. i.e, http://ntruhs.ap.nic.in


9. ADMISSION INTO COMPETENT AUTHORITY SEATS:

9.1 Eligibility:
The candidates should be of Indian Nationality or persons of Indian origin (P.I.O) /
Overseas citizen of India (OCI) card holders and should satisfy the local or non-local
status in Andhra Pradesh (Residence requirement) as laid down in Andhra Pradesh
educational institutions (Regulations of admissions) order, 1974 and the selection will be
done as per the procedure laid down in the G.O.P.No.646, dated 10-07-1979 as
amended vide G.O.Ms.No.42, Higher Education, dated.18-09-2009. The candidates
shall qualify in the Entrance Test

9.2 Reservation of seats for Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes.


9.2.1 Out of the available seats for admission by University, 15% for SCs and 6% for STs shall
be reserved in each local area. If any seat reserved for the Scheduled Tribes is not filled
up they will be offered to the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Vice-Versa.
9.2.2 If the candidates from Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes are not available, these
reserved seats shall be re-allotted to candidates of open competition on the basis of
merit.
9.2.3 Candidates of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes belonging to the State of
Andhra Pradesh only which are specified by the Govt. of AP will be considered against
the reserved seats.

9.3 Reservation of Seats for Backward Classes:

9.3.1 29% of the Seats available for admission by the University shall be reserved for
candidates belonging to Backward Classes and shall be allotted among the five groups
for Back Ward Classes as follow :-
BC-A-7%, BC-B-10%, BC-C-1%, BC-D-7% and BC-E-4% as per the G.O. Ms. No. 1793,
Education,dt.23.09.1970 and G.O.Ms. No.23, Backward Classes Welfare (C2), dated.07-
07-2007 and G.O. Ms.No.231, Health Medical and Family Welfare (E1) Department,
dated 11-07- 2007.
* Reservation under BC-E is subject to further orders from Government of A.P./High
Court.

9.3.2 Only those Candidates who belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh which are specified by
the Govt. of AP shall be considered under the respective categories.

9.3.3 If sufficient candidates belong to Backward Classes of a particular group are not
available, the left over seats can be adjusted for the candidates of next group. If qualified
candidates belonging to Back Ward Classes are not available to fill up the 29% seats
reserved for them, these reserved seats shall be re-allotted to candidates of open
competition on the basis of merit.
9.3.4 In working out percentage of reserved candidates under SC, ST and BC categories, a
fraction less than 0.5 will be ignored and if the fraction is 0.5 or more, it will be counted
as one.
9.4 RESERVATION UNDER PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED PERSONS (PH) APPLICABLE
FOR PRIVATE AFFILIATED COLLEGES OF NURSING ONLY:

Out of the available seats for admission by the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences,
3% shall be reserved for the Physically Challenged persons (PH).in each categories of
OC, SC, ST, BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D and BC-E. As per Government of India
Guidelines Physically Challenged persons with locomotary disorder of lower limbs
between 40% to 70% are only eligible under the Physically Handicapped quota.

Medical Board to be constituted for scrutinizing the applications and the candidates
should appear in person before the medical board. The Medical Board should confirm
the disability mentioned in the certificate and decide fitness to undergo the rigours of
education.

Candidates with the following defects shall not be considered for selection under
this category:
1) Mentally retarded 2) Blindness
3) Deaf and Dumb 4) Chronic Heart, Lung, Kidney and Liver Disease
and
5) Muscular Dystrophy

Once the Physically Handicapped status is confirmed, merit is to be taken into
consideration for allotment of seat under PH.

The candidate seeking the benefit of reservation should present herself before a Medical
Board constituted. The candidate shall submit a PH certificate issued by a Medical Board,
comprising of at least one Expert/Specialist from the specialty of Orthopedics of Medical Board
and obtain a valid disability certificate from the Medical Board having been issued within three
months prior to presenting her application for seeking admission into the course by claiming the
benefit of reservation.

9.5. CERTIFICATION OF CASTE:

9.5.1 Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Backward class candidates shall in support of
their claim, have to furnish a certificate in the prescribed form appended to the
application. If the certificate is not in the prescribed form, candidates will not be
considered for selection under the reserved quota.
9.5.2 The social status of the candidates who have applied for the seats reserved for
Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes shall be scrutinized in
terms of G.O.Ms.No.58 SW (J) Dept, dated. 12-05-97.

10. RESERVATION FOR LOCAL CANDIDATES:

10.1 85% of the seats in each local area shall be reserved for local candidates and remaining
15% unreserved seats will be filled by applicants as defined in regulation 10.

10.2 DEFINITION OF LOCAL AREAS:

a) The part of the State comprising the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram,
Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam shall
be regarded as Andhra / Nagarjuna University Area.
b) The part of the state comprising the districts of Adilabad, Hyderabad, (including twin
cities), Ranga Reddy, Khammam, Karimnagar, Medak, Mahaboobnagar, Nalgonda,
Nizamabad and Warangal shall be regarded as the Osmania / Kakatiya University
Area.
c) The part of the State comprising the districts of Anantapur, Kurnool, Chittoor,
Cuddapah and Nellore shall be regarded as Sri Venkateswara University Area.

10.3 DEFINITION OF LOCAL CANDIDATES:

A candidate for admission shall be regarded as a local candidate in relation to a local
area.

a) If she has studied in educational institution or educational institutions in such local
area for a period of not less than four consecutive academic years ending with the
academic year in which she appeared or as the case may be, first appeared in the
relevant Qualifying Examination.

b) Where during the whole or any part of the four consecutive academic years ending
with the academic year in which she appeared or as the case may be, first appeared
for qualifying examination, she has not studied in any educational institution, if has
resided in the local area for a period of not less than four years immediately
preceding the date of commencement of relevant examination in which she
appeared, or as the case may be, first appeared then she becomes a local
candidate.

10.4 A candidate for admission to the course who is not regarded as a local candidate under
sub regulation 9.3 above in relation to any local area shall

a) If she has studied in educational institutions in the State for a period of not less than
seven consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which she
appeared or as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying
examination be regarded as a local candidate in relation to.

i) Such local area where she has studied for the maximum period out of said
period of seven years.
ii) Where the periods of her study in two or more local areas is equal, such local
area where she has studied last in such equal periods.
b) If, during the whole or any part of seven consecutive academic years ending with
the academic year in which she appeared or as the case may be first appeared for
the relevant qualifying examination, she has not studied in the educational
institutions in any local area, but has resided in the State during the whole of the
said period of seven years, be regarded as local candidate in relation to
i) Such local area where she has resided for the maximum period out of the said
period of seven years,
ii) Where the periods of her residence in two or more local areas are equal such
local area where she has resided last in such equal periods.

Explanation For purpose of this Sub regulation.

i) Educational Institution means a college, a school imparting education upto and
inclusive of tenth class, or other institutions by whatever name called whether
managed by Government, Private body, local authority or University and
carrying on the activity of imparting education there in whether technical or
otherwise and includes a Polytechnic, Industrial training Institute and a
Teachers Training Institute but does not include a Tutorial Institution.
ii) Relevant qualifying examination for admission into Post Basic B.Sc., (Nursing)
courses of study means a pass in the examination, which is the minimum
educational qualification (GNM and Intermediate) for admission to such course
of study.
Note: The relevant qualifying examination for admission into Post Basic
B.Sc.,(Nursing) course being GNM and Intermediate,
iii) a) In reckoning the consecutive academic years during which a candidate has
studied, any period of interruption of her study by reason of her failure to
pass any examination, and;
b) Any period of her study in a State-wide University or State wide educational
institution shall be disregarded.
iv) The question whether any candidate for admission to any course of Study has
resided in any local area shall be determined with reference to the places where
the candidate actually resided and not with reference to the residence of her
parent or guardian.
10.5 While determining the number of seats to be reserved in favour of local candidates
under regulation 9.1, any fraction of a seat shall be counted as one provided there
shall be one Unreserved Seat.
10.6 If a local candidate in respect of a local area is not available to fill any seat reserved or
allocated in favour of a local candidate in respect of that local area, such seat shall be
filled in as if it has not been reserved.
10.7 a) Applicants who claim to be local candidates with reference to regulation 9.3 (a)
shall produce evidence in the form of study certificate/certificates issued by the
Heads of Educational Institution/Institutions concerned, indicating the details of the
year or years in which the candidate has studied in educational institutions in such
local area for a period of not less than four consecutive academic years ending with
the academic years in which she appeared or as the case may be, first appeared
for the Intermediate examination or its equivalent. Those who do not qualify as local
candidates under sub regulation 9.3 (a) but claim to qualify by virtue of residence

under regulation 9.3 (b) shall produce a certificate issued by an officer of the
Revenue Department not below the rank of a Mandal Revenue Officer in the form
annexed in G.O.Ms.No.628 Education, dated the 25th July, 1974, (appended to the
application)
b) Applicants who claim to be local Candidates under 9 (4)(a) shall produce evidence
in the form of study certificate issued by the heads of the Educational Institution /
Institutions concerned indicating the details of the year or years in which the
candidate has studied in the respective educational Institutions for a period of not
less than seven consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in
which she appeared, or as the case may be first appeared for the Intermediate
Examination or its equivalent. Those who do not qualify as local candidate under
the regulation 9.4 (a) but claim to qualify by virtue of residence under regulation 9.4
(b) shall produce a certificate of residence issued by an officer of the Revenue
Department not below the rank of Mandal Revenue Officer in the form similar to that
Annexed to G.O.Ms.No.628, Education, dated 25
th
July 1974 with necessary
modifications (appended to the application).

11. PROCEDURE OF THE SELECTION:

11.1 The committee shall after completion of valuation, prepare a Master merit list.
11.2 The selection shall be local area wise and shall be made on the basis of marks
obtained by the candidate in the Entrance Test. The selection of local candidates shall
be made in accordance with the procedure prescribed and instructions issued by the
Government from time to time.
11.3 The Selection Committee appointed by the University shall select the candidates in
accordance with the provisions of these Regulations. The selection will be done as per
the procedure laid down in the G.O.P.No.646, dated 10-07-1979 as amended vide
G.O.Ms.No.42, Higher Education, dated.18-09-2009. As per the above, first Un Reserved
seats will be filled and then Local Seats.
11.4 The selection committee shall have power to revise its decision in any case and to
direct the Principal concerned to take further action either to select or cancel the
selection or to admit or cancel the admission before the closure of the admissions for
the year under consideration.
11.4.1 The counseling will be held at Dr. NTR UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH
SCIENCES, VIJAYAWADA-8. The date of counseling will be announced later.
11.4.2 All the qualified candidates at the Post Basic B.Sc., (N) Entrance
Test -2014 may attend the counseling as per the schedule.
11.4.3 All the candidates at the time of counseling will choose the colleges of their
choice on the spot taking into consideration the vacancy position at his/her
turn.
11.4.4 The selected candidates shall submit all the original certificates and shall pay
the college fee before the date specified by the University in the college in
which the candidate has got provisional selection, failing which the selection
of the candidate is deemed to have been cancelled.

11.4.5 All the selected candidates shall pay the University fee and tuition fee as prescribed
by the Government of AP from time to time
a) Tuition Fee: The Tuition Fee as fixed as by the Government
b) University Fee: All the selected candidates shall pay the following fee in
the form of crossed D.D drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of
Registrar, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, payable at Vijayawada
on the date of counseling. University fee once paid shall not be
refunded under any circumstances.
a) Registration Fee : Rs. 1700-00
b) Admission Fee : Rs. 800-00
c) I.U.T/Sports Fee : Rs. 800-00
d) Students welfare fund : Rs. 400-00
e) Hand Book : Rs. 200-00
f) Digital Library Fee : Rs. 600-00
Total : Rs. 4500-00

11.4.7 Candidates absented at their turn shall not be considered for selections
during that selection.
11.4.8 If any further selection conducted by the University the resultant vacancies
shall be open to all the candidates below the rank of candidates who have not
joined the course and the candidates who were absent in the earlier selection.
The resultant vacancies shall be filled by the candidates belonging to the
same category of the seat as those who have not joined the course or
vacated the seat
11.4.9 Mere attending the selection does not confer right for a seat.

12. VERIFICATION OF ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES:

The Principals of the concerned Nursing Colleges shall verify all the original certificates of
the candidates admitted to the Post Basic B.Sc.., (Nursing) Course with the Board of
Intermediate Education or the concerned authorities as the case may be.

13. NURSING ADMISSION COMMITTEE:

13.1 The whole process of admission of candidates into the course shall be under the
general supervision of the Selection Committee, constituted by the Vice-Chancellor.

13.2 Selection Committee shall select candidates in accordance with the provisions of
these regulations.

13.3 The Selection Committee shall have power to review its decision and can either admit or
cancel the admission before the closure of admissions.


14. VACANCIES:

Vacancies if any, caused due to failure to join or cancellation of admissions or demise of the
candidates etc., before the closure of admissions shall be filled by the Selection Committee in
accordance with the Regulations. Any vacancy on the date of closure of admissions or that arises
after closure of admissions shall not be filled.

15. JOINING TIME:

The selected candidates shall join the institution concerned within the specified date. No
request shall be entertained for extension of time under any circumstances. Failure to join
the course in time shall automatically result in the cancellation of the seat.


16. CLOSURE OF ADMISSIONS:

18.1 . The admissions shall be closed on the specified date notified by the University.

18.2 . Commencement of Classes from will be notified in the allotment order.

17. VERIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS:

17.1 The Head of concerned institution to which the candidate is allotted for admission shall
verify the authenticity of the documents, if satisfied shall direct the candidate to pay the
fees etc., immediately.
17.2 All the candidates selected should undergo Medical Examination as directed by the
Head of the institution concerned. The admission of the candidates shall be subject to
their fitness in the medical examination.
17.3 All original documents and declarations shall be preserved in the safe custody of the
concerned Head of the institution in order to facilitate any enquiry in future.

18. POWERS OF THE HEAD OF THE INSTITUTION:

18.1 Not withstanding anything contained in these Regulations, the Head of the Institution
may at any time, either suo-moto or an application made by any person after due and
proper enquiry, if satisfied that the candidate has furnished incorrect information or
enclosed false certificates or fraudulently obtained admission may for the reasons to be
recorded in writing, by order cancel her admission provided that no such admission
shall be cancelled without giving a reasonable opportunity for showing cause as to why
her admission should not be cancelled.
18.2 Against any such order of the Head of the Institution, an appeal shall lie with the
Registrar, Dr. NTR University Health Sciences.

19. POWERS OF Dr. NTR UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES:

The University may either suo-moto or on an application made to them call for and
examine the records relating to any selection or admission or cancellation there of made by the
concerned authority for the purpose of satisfying themselves as to the correctness, legality or
proprietary of such selection or admission or cancellation and pass such order in relation there to
as they deem fit, including cancellation of the selection or admission already made, provided that
the University may, before canceling such selection or admission, given an opportunity to the
authority and to the person affected to show cause against such cancellation.


20. FINALIZATION OF SELECTION:

All selections made under these regulations shall be subject to such directions or orders
as may be made by the University from time to time.

21. THE REGULATIONS FOR RE- ADMISSION AFTER BREAK OF STUDY APPLICABLE FOR ALL
THE CANDIDATES ADMITTED INTO POST BASIC B.Sc., NURSING COURSE

The regulation is subject to modification from time to time.
DEFINITIONS:
i. Break of study means any absence more than 3 months during the course of study.

ii. 3 months for this purpose is a period of 90 days (ninety days) to be recorded from the
date of absence irrespective of the number of days in one calendar month.

iii. For all practical purpose only two types of break of study is allowed.
a. Less than 3 months of break (as per definition)
b. More than 3 months of break but less than the twice the number of years of study
of a particular course.
Ex: For MBBS/BDS twice the number of years of study is 9 years
For B.Sc(Nursing) / Physiotherapy is 8 years.
iv. If the candidate is on Break of study for two spells in an academic year of a particular
course the candidate is deemed to have been discharged from the course of study. One
cannot apply for condonation of the break.

v. Only two spells of break of study for the entire duration of the course is permitted.
During second spell of break of study even if the break of study is less than 90 days,
permission must be obtained from the university and that spell of Break shall also be
counted as second spell of break.

vi. For less than three months of break, the Principal/ Dean of the college can permit to
rejoin in to the course under intimation to the university.

vii. If the break of study is more than three months the candidate has to apply to the
university through the Principal/Dean of the college. The University can give permission
to the candidate to complete the course within twice the years of the study of the
particular course.

Example 1: B.Sc Nursing student discontinues after 2 years of study and wants to join the course
after 2 years of absence from study may be permitted to rejoin into the course since the
candidate has 2 years of study to complete. If the candidate discontinues the course
after 2 years of the study and wants to continue after 5 years of absence the candidate
will not be permitted to continue the course since student will be finishing only after
twice the number of years of the course (2 years of study + 5 years of absence
+ remaining 2 years of the study) makes the student study for 9 years whereas
according to the regulation students should not exceed twice the number of years of
study in 8 years.
Example 2: MBBS. Student discontinue after 3 years of study want to join the course after 3
years of absence from study may be permitted to join into the course since the
candidate have 1 year of study to complete. If the candidate discontinue the course
after the 3 years of the study wants to continue after 5 years absence, the candidate
will not be permitted to continue the course since, will be finishing only after twice the
number of years of the course.

UNDER GRADUATE DEGREE COURSES IN MEDICINE, /DENTAL, INDIAN MEDICINE &
HOMOEOPATHY, PARAMEDICAL AND POST BASIC B.SC., NURSING AND ALLIED
HEALTH SCIENCE COURSES.
In the Regulation under the heading PROCEDURE FOR REJOINING into the course shall be as
follows:

(i) The candidate having a break of study for more than three months but less than twice the
years of the course shall apply for re-admission into the course in the prescribed form as in
Annexure II by remitting the stipulated fee for condonation of Break of Study to the University
Request to readmission: -

The Principal shall forwarded the application with specific remarks about the absence period
and with an undertaking from the student that he/she is not involved in criminal cases during
the absence period.

If any candidate is permitted by the Dean / Principal of the college concerned without the
prior permission from this university, the re-admission to the course after the break of study
the period of such study shall not be considered as a recognized study and the
candidate shall not be permitted to write the university examination based on such
study Period.

When the candidate is readmitted into the course and shall after fulfillment of the Regulations
of this university to the course concerned be admitted to the examinations.

ii) The period of break of study of the candidate for rejoining into the course shall be calculated
from the date of first discontinuance of the course.

iii) All the under Graduate students have to execute a declaration at the time of registration
with this University in this regard in the prescribed form as in Annexure I.

iv) Only two spells of break of study will be allowed for the entire duration of the course.

v) If the name of the candidate has been registered in this University on the particular course of
study but the candidate has not appeared for the university examination and subsequently if
the candidate has entered on Break of Study for more than two years the candidate shall
start the course afresh as Dr. NTR UHS regulations.

vi) If the candidate has not completed the course beyond twice the year of duration of course of
study shall be discharged from the course immediately. This is applicable for all the years of
study of Under graduate degree courses


22. STIFUNDS: (Only for Government Colleges)

22.1 Stipend and other allowances will be paid as per Rules in force from time to time.
22.2 If the student fails to be promoted the next year after any examination her stipend
and allowance will be discontinued and will be resumed when she passes the
examination within attempts prescribed.
22.3 The students shall only be permitted to have the three attempts mentioned in sub-
regulations (b) of this Regulation within a maximum period of two years commencing
from the first regular examination.

23. UNIFORM:

Student nurses shall wear uniform while on duty.

24. COURSE OF STUDY:

The candidate admitted into Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Course shall pursue the course in
accordance with syllabus prescribed by the University.

25. EXAMINATION:

The candidate will have to appear for such examinations as are prescribed by the University
from time to time. A minimum of 80% of attendance in theory and practical / clinical in each
subject is essential for appearing in the examination, 100% of attendance in practical /
clinical in each clinical area before award of Degree.

26. TERMINATION OF TRAINING AND DISMISSAL:

26.1 A candidate admitted to any of the institutions shall be liable for dismissal there from at
any time before completion of the course on account of negligence, failure to attend to
the prescribed studies, and duties, in subordination, misconduct or any other offences
amounting to moral turpitude on the part of the candidate which in the opinion of the
Head of the institution makes it undesirable to continue the candidate in the college.
26.2 a) The Head of the institutions concerned shall be competent authority to issue orders
under this regulation who before taking such action shall give an opportunity to the
candidate to show cause against the proposed action.
b) An appeal against the dismissal order, shall be made to the Registrar, Dr. NTR
University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada 520 008 within three months of the
receipt of the dismissal order.

27. MIGRATION / TRANSFER:

Migration / Transfer from one college to another college shall not be allowed under any
circumstances

ANTI RAGING ACT:
(An act of prohibition of ragging in all educational institutions in the state of Andhra
Pradesh)
ABSTRACT of G.O.Ms.No.67, Higher Education (EC) Department, dt. 31.08.2002

1. Short Title: These rules may be called the Andhra Pradesh prohibition of
ragging in all educational institutions rules -2002
2. Definitions: In these rules unless the context other requires :-
(a) Act includes words either spoken or written or signs are sounds are gestures are
visible representation.
(b) Education Institutions ,means and include a college or other institution by
what ever name called, caring on the activity or imparting education therein
(c) (either exclusively or among other activities) and includes an orphanage or
boarding home or hostel or tutorial institution or other premises attached
thereto .
(d) Government means the state Government of Andhra Pradesh.
(e) Notification means notification published in Andhra Pradesh gazetted and the
work notified shall be construed accordingly.
(f) Ragging means doing an act which causes or is likely to cause insult or
annoyance of fear or apprehension or threat of intimidation or outrange if modesty
or injury to a student;
(g) Student means a person who is admitted into an education institution and whose
name is and lawfully borne on the attendance register thereof. All words and
expression used but not defined as these rules have meaning assigned to them
under AP Education Act, 1982 or Indian penal code 1860 as the case may be.
3. Prohibition of ranging:-
(a) Ragging is prohibited within are out side of any educational Institution in the state.
(b) the principal/ Head of the institution shall obtain an undertaking in writing from the
students /parents at the time of admission, that the shall not resort to ragging inside
or outside the institution.
(c) Full publicity should be given to the punishment for ragging through open circulars,
suitable posters, colleges and hostel premises etc., by the principal/ Head of the
Institutions.
(d) the principal/ Head of the institution shall constitute anti ragging squads involving
teachers and students to prevent ragging.
(e) the Head of the institution shall large a criminal case against students resorted to
ragging for taking action as mentioned in Andhra Pradesh Prohibition of Ragging Act,
1997 (AP Act No. 26 of 1997)
Certain of the guide lines to prevent ragging in educational institution all illustrated in the
annexure to these rules.
4. Responsibility of the head of the Institution:
(1) at the commencement of the academic session, the institutions should constitute
proctorial committee consisting of senior facility members and hostel authorities like
the warden and a few responsible senior students.
(I) To keep 3 continuous watch and vigil over ragging so as to prevent its occurrence and
recurrence

(ii) To promptly deal the incidents of ragging brought to its notice and summarily punish
the guilty either by it self or by putting forth its finding / Recommendation /
Suggestions before the authority competent to take decision. All vulnerable location
shall be identified and specially watched.
(2) The local community and the students in particular must be made aware of
dehumanizing effect of ragging inherent in its perversity. Posters, notice boards and sign-
boards- wherever necessary, may be used for the purpose.
(3) Failure to prevent ragging shall be construed as an act of negligence in maintaining
discipline in the institution on the part of the management, the principal and the persons
in authority of the institution. Similar responsibility shall be liable to be fixed on hostel
wardens/ Superintendents.
(4) Whenever any student complains of ragging to the head of the Educational institution
such head or manger shall enquire into the same for with and if the complaint is prima
facie found true, shall suspend the student or students complained against for such
period as may be deemed necessary,
(5) The decision of the head of the institution or the person responsible for the Management
of the educational institution is final.
(6) If an institution fails to curb ragging. The person responsible for the management of the
educational institution is final such time as achieves the same. The University shall
consider disaffiliating a college or institutions failing to curb ragging. All Universities shall
bring these guidelines to the notice of all educational institutions under their control and
jurisdiction. Publicity also be given by issuing press notes in public interest by University.

(5) PENALTY FOR RAGGING:

(1) Whoever with the intention of causing ragging or with the knowledge that he is likely by
such act to cause ragging. Commits or a ragging shall be punishable as per Andhra
Pradesh Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1997 ( Act 26 of 1997)
(2) The students convicted of an offence under section 4 of Andhra Pradesh Prohibition
Act, (Act 26 of 1997) and punished imprisonment for a term shall be dismissed from the
educational institution.
(3) The student convicted of an offence under section 4 of Andhra Pradesh prohibition of
Ragging Act, 1997, and punished imprisonment for a term to more than six months
shall no be admitted in any other educational institution.
(4) Any student dismissed from a college for ragging should be debarred from seeking
admission in any other course of study in college/University located in the state.
(5) Incase of the students who involved in ragging, there shall be an embossment on his
marks cards and other academic certificate bold letters which cannot be obliterated
that he had indulged in-ragging and had conduced himself in a manner unbecoming.

ANNEXURE - III
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES
1. Hall Ticket issued to you is an important document. Please preserve it carefully until the admissions are
closed.
2. Hall Ticket is not transferable. Any tampering of hall ticket will automatically lead to the disqualification
of the candidate.
3. Candidate shall arrive at the examination hall at least half an hour before commencement of the
examination. This will enable the candidate to familiarize himself/herself with the response sheet.
4. Candidates will not be allowed to enter examination hall once the examination has commenced.
5. Candidates are directed to carry to the examination hall a good ball point pen (Blue or Black).
6. Candidates should not bring Calculators, Pagers, Cell Phones, Computers or any other electronic
gadget whether it is concerned with the examination or not except the Hall Ticket. Any candidate found
in possession of any forbidden material will be sent out of the examination hall.
7. Candidates must remain seated in their allotted places till the completion of the examination. No
candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall before completion of (1 1/2) one and half hours
after commencement of the examination. Before leaving, the candidates must return to the invigilator
both the question paper booklet and the response sheet.
8. Every candidate appearing for the entrance test shall be provided with a specially designed Optical
mark Reader (OMR) response sheet (Answer Sheet) on which the candidate shall have to mark his or
her answers and other relevant data. The method of marking the answers is illustrated in this section.
Candidates are advised to go through the instructions given for marking the answers and other entries
on the Optical mark Reader (OMR) response sheet thoroughly and practice the same at their residence
which would make it easy for them to answer in the examination hall.
9. The Optical Mark Reader (OMR) response sheet should be handled carefully by the candidates. They
are advised not to fold, wrinkle or tear the response sheet under any circumstances. Further the
candidates are advised not to scribble or make any marks on the response sheet. Any violation of
these instructions will automatically lead to the disqualification of the candidate.
10. Candidate shall note that they will not be given under any circumstances a second blank Optical Mark
Reader (OMR) response sheet. Hence they are advised to be careful while handling their response
sheet.
11. Candidate shall read the instruction sheet carefully before starting to answer the questions.
12. The question paper booklet given to the candidate shall consist 100 multiple choice type questions with
four responses given to each question out of which only one response is most appropriate for the given
question. Candidate shall mark the correct answer in the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) response sheet
by shading in Dark the appropriate oval with a good ball point pen (Blue or Black only). They should not
use pencil, ink pen or sketch pen under any circumstances.
13. Candidates are required to answer all questions. All questions carry equal marks. There is no negative
marking for incorrect answers.

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES ABOUT THE STAGES OF COUNSELING
FOR POST BASIC B.SC NURSING COURSE.

Selection of a seat by a candidate and admission there afterwards involves the following
stages:

SIMULTANEOUSLY, EFFICIENTLY AND EFFECTIVELY DURING THE SELECTION OF
A SEAT BY THE CANDIDATE].

(a) Registration of the candidates - All the Candidates are informed to register at the
registration counter when their Rank numbers are called. If a candidate fails to register, she
will not be allowed for selection of a seat.

(b) Verification of the original documents - The candidate after registration has to submit all
the Original Certificates for verification of their all original certificates for confirmation of
their Name, Merit Order, Registration Number, University Area, Sex etc.,. A receipt will be
issued for the Certificates submitted by the candidate.
The reserved category candidates i.e. BCs / SCs / STs will go for verification of their social
status after verification of other original certificates. Other than BC / SC / ST candidates will
enter into the Counseling Hall directly without going the social status verification. A
candidate registered shall not leave the Counseling hall until she completes the process of
selection.
If the candidate fails to submit the certificates for verification, the candidate will not be
permitted for selection of a seat.

(c) All the reserved Category Candidates i.e., BCs, SCs & STs have to get verified their social
status by the officers of the respective Departmental officers present at the counseling hall.
The Candidates are informed to get their certificates verified in the order of Merit Number is
called. The Candidates have to bring the original certificate and two sets of Xerox copies as
mentioned in the Regulations.
The SC and ST Candidates shall submit the Income Certificate issued by the competent
authority.
If the Social status claim of the candidate is rejected by the officers concerned such
candidates will not be considered for selection against the seats reserved for that category.
If the caste of the Candidate is not confirmed and kept pending for enquiry by the
Departmental Officers the seat is kept pending. Such candidate will be directed to produce
the social status clearance certificate issued by the respective District Collectors as per
rules. After verification of the social status the reserved category candidates will enter into
the counseling Hall.

(d) The Candidates waiting in the counseling Hall will be called Merit Order wise for counseling
where the available seats in Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Course will be displayed.

(e) The Candidate will choose a seat of her choice in the available seats at her turn as per
rules and eligibility. The Candidate has to enter the course and the college that she has
opted in the option form and she has to sign in the option form. The Parent /Guardian has
to confirm the selection of the seat by her Daughter, she has to sign in the option form.

(f) After choosing the seat the candidate has to pay the University fee Rs. 4,500/- by way of
Demand Draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of Registrar, Dr. NTR University of
Health Sciences payable at Vijayawada at the Bank Counter at the time of counseling.

(g) After payment of the Fee the candidate will be issued the Provisional Selection/Allotment
letter.

(h) The selected candidates shall pay the tuition fee at the college at the time of admission.
