Viki Feldman - The Famous Architect

In order to be an architect in New York City, you really need to know your stuff. Especially if youre
talking about Manhattan, the design of a building has to be to a high enough standard that it can stand
up to the criticisms and judgement of potentially millions of people. One notable woman who excels at
this is Viki Feldman. Shes an urban planner and architect who has quite a bit of experience under her
belt. She follows a specific philosophy to all of her designs that have stood out as innovate and much-
needed in todays world.
Natural Design
An idea that Viki Feldman abides by is natural design. She goes through great efforts not only to make
buildings look nice, but also to better integrate it into the surrounding environment. She tries to make a
building looks like it naturally belongs where it stands. This is further emphasized by the fact that she
tries to use only natural materials, which is something thats extremely important these days with a
push towards green and environmentally-friendly design. Viki Feldman integrates green design in a way
thats both tasteful and practical.
Rise and Fall
Due to her willingness to innovate, Viki Feldman has received a number of awards and recognitions
during her career. In 1999, as a member of the American Institute of Architects, she was elected to the
College of Fellows. Later, in 2003 she was awarded the Rome Price in Architecture and assisted in
designing the Center of Architecture, which essentially began her career in New York City.
Unfortunately, Viki Feldman passed away in 2008 due to cancer complications. She left a fairly
significant legacy behind her, and she will not soon be forgotten. Even if not for her innovative
architecture, she was also a kind person who touched the lives of many.
