Year 2 Thao Dien Unit of Inquiry 1 Overview

Mathematics

Recognise, model, read, write and order numbers to at least 100. Locate these numbers on a number
line

Represent and solve simple addition and subtraction problems using a range of strategies including
counting on, partitioning and rearranging parts

Investigate and describe number patterns formed by skip counting and patterns with objects

Vietnamese Language and Culture (VLC)

Year 2 will start their first VLC topic with Numbers.
During VLC lessons, the students will learn how to
count to 20 and say the days of the week and
months of the year in Vietnamese. They will also
learn a Vietnamese children song called Tp
m.

Culture forcus: MOON FESTIVAL
-Focuses on common children song and lantern
decoration.
