Introduction
1 min - Role calling
2 min - Check homework
- The teacher asks for students’ favorite sports.
- The teacher writes on the board the students’ favorite
sports.

Core of the class 5 min - The teacher shows some pictures of different sport.
Pre-stage - The students identify them and label them.
- The teacher shows some definitions of sports.
- The students read and match them to the pictures of the
sports shown previously.

10 min - The teacher draws students’ attention to some verbs in


While-stage the definitions, and elicits the meaning of them from
students.
- The teacher shows the flashcards of some action verbs
related to sports.
- The teacher asks the students to match the verbs to the
sports mentioned before.
- The students match the verbs to those sports that fit them.
- The teacher and the students match the verbs with
different sports on the board.
7 min - The students create 5 sentences with the verbs given
about different actions in sports:
In tennis you can serve twice.
In football you have to score as many goals as you can to
win.

Post-stage 15 min - The teacher shows a description of a written report of a


student called Monica, where she describes her favorite
sport.
- The teacher gives guidelines to students to develop a
similar report, changing specific information.

Which sport do you practice? How often?
- The students stick the photo they brought as homework in
the report.
