Step 4 Training
DPI has released the Step 4- Deep Dive. It is required for teachers evalu-
ated (summary and supportng years) under the Educator Efectveness
System to view the Step 4 training. Here is the link: Step 4 Training
Of course, we encourage teachers to take the tme to watch Step 4 in its
entrety, however, we feel that the Agency Educator Efectveness Orien-
taton held on August 21st covered several details within Step 4. So, we
have selected a few important modules for teachers to review.
Within the welcome, teachers are to select the teacher role under Pick
Your Role. Within the teacher role, the minimum requirement would be
to watch the following modules:

Planning Session

Keep in mind the Seeds of Health Educator Efectveness Plan has some
diferences from the DPI plan (i.e. cycles, summary vs. supportng year
responsibilites, etc.). Atached is the Seeds of Health summary vs. sup-
portng year details that was covered during the orientaton.
In additon, there are many resources within Step 4. Please refer to the
tab at the top labeled: Glossary, Teacher Resources, EE Resources and
Ms. Smiths EEP Resources.
Please review these modules prior to September 15
th

Artfacts
A change has been made
regarding uploading art-
facts. Your evaluators will
collect evidence for Do-
mains 2 and 3. You will
collect evidence for Do-
mains 1 and 4. It is best to
use high-leverage artfacts
which are single data
sources that may supply
appropriate evidence for
multple domains/
components. These artfacts
contain the best and most
precise informaton. Exam-
ples of high-leverage art-
facts are unit plan with les-
son plan and assessment,
teacher comments, video
and observaton.
You can fnd the agency-
generated list of artfacts on
the agency website.

"I believe that one of the
reasons my framework
has become so widely ac-
cepted is that it gives
voice to what all educa-
tors know, that teaching
is very complex work, it's
a thinking person's job
and you cannot follow a
cookbook."
