McNulty, A., & Lazarevic, B. (2012). BEST PRACTICES IN USING VIDEO TECHNOLOGY TO PROMOTE SECOND LANGUAGE ACQUISITION. Teaching English with Technology, 12(3), 49-61.
Description: Video materials can be used for simple viewing and listening to the foreign language content to elicit discussions or communication in the classroom. Listening and watching videos provide an opportunity for students to hear accurate pronunciation of words and sentences as they are spoken by the native English speakers Explanation of how it supports L1 or L2 language acquisition or development: The role of utilizing video can be used to improve student pronunciation and presentation skills. This technology is beginning to become more acceptable in the classroom. Video-based ESL activities contributed to the overall learning motivation and the enhancement of pronunciation skills.

Description: Centers or learning stations are most often set up around the classroom so that children can visit and participate in a variety of learning activities. These centers support content-area and literacy learning and are designed to actively engage students in learning. Students rotate through the centers in an organized fashion. Students can work individually or in groups.
Learning centers can be used for any content area. Some centers can include activities like: Duplicate sets of flash cards with the vocabulary words to be used with a sentence using the word in context on the back. These flash cards could be used by peers to practice saying and reading the word, or they could be used to play concentration requiring the students to say the word in a sentence when a match was made. Scrambled sentences using the same words to practice grammar structure. Cloze activities to practice using context clues.
Explanation of how it supports L1 or L2 language acquisition or development: Centers would enable ELLS to engage in the activities, either individually or in cooperative groups purposely structured that support language development. These centers help ELLs practice what was introduced in class and can support the strands of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
