The Supreme Law Student Council (SLSC) 2014 has been commonly branded as one of, if not the
most, collectively active set officers, bringing student leadership to a whole new level. It has been said
that to be a great leader, one must first be a good follower. But, to be an even greater leader, one must
learn to have a harmonious relationship with his co-leaders. An officer, no matter how diligent and
responslble, canL do much wlLh a dlvlded admlnlsLraLlon. So the SLSC 2014, before commencing their
term, had a workshop to know each other more and train themselves how to be better leaders. It is also
of common knowledge that to avoid misunderstandings among the group, the members have to act as
one, as can be readily seen ln Lhls years LC admlnlsLraLlon.
As one of its experimental projects with the express instruction of the Assistant Dean himself,
Atty Alizedney Ditucalan, the SLSC 2014 had the College of Law-Iligan Extension (Lhe College") sign-up
for a one-semesLer subscrlpLlon Lo legal whlz". If results show at the end of the first semester that
legal whiz proved to be of beneficial use to the students, the College will then continue its subscription
up to the second semester. Also, for Lhls years bar operations, with the overall chairman Atty Hariz
Jabbar Disocor, an lncome generaLlng pro[ecL (lC) called Lhe 8arCps 2014 Challenge" patterned after
Lhe AL lce buckeL challenge" has been seL lnLo moLlon. arL of Lhe income will rightfully go to the ALS
foundation.
SLSC 2014 is still halfway through their one-year term. Cne can only hope for a more lnvolved
sLudenLry" and a serlous leadershlp" from these set of officers, as were promised to the College during
their campaign last election.
