STATUS AND POSTION OF ENGLISH IN PAKITAN

Language

Language is a crucial part of any culture any society.

It is the dominant feature in determining the basis of
nationalism
Ethnicity

It present the nations identity and preserve its
heritage.

It is also a driving force behind the unity of people
and make them distinct from other nations.

Urdu as a language evolve during the last period of
Mughal rule in India.

Persian was the official language.
Turkic was the mother tongue among many rulers.

Urdu and Hindi was the languages of the masses.

During British rule they get better position because of
being educated.

AFTER 1947

After along the other issues language was one of
the major.
Urdu declared as the National language.
Bengali were 54% of the population resented in
East Pakistan (1971)

Only 7% of the whole population know and speak
Urdu.

Because of the literacy rate most of the Urdu
speaking were on Prominent positions.

language .

English as official language.
