KETOROLAC The
primary actionresponsibl

ketorolac's anti-
inflammatory,
antipyretic and
analgesic
effects is
the inhibition of
prostaglandin
synthesis by competitive
blocking of the enzyme
cyclo-
oxygenase
(COX). Ketorolac is a
non-selective COX
inhibitor.
Short term
management of
moderate to
severe post-op
pain
Ketorolac
is contraindicated in
patients with a
previously
demonstrated
hypersensitivity to
ketorolac, and in
patients with the
complete or partial
syndrome of nasal
polyps,
angioedema,
bronchospastic react
ivity or other allergic
manifestations to
aspirin or other non-
steroidal anti-
inflammatory drugs
(due to possibility of
severe anaphylaxis.
A post-marketing
surveillance
study
[]
indicated a
dose-response
relationship with
average daily dose
for both
gastrointestinal
bleeding and
operative site
bleeding, and an
association between
gastrointestinal
bleeding and
therapy for more
than five days.
Allergic reactions
(anaphylactoid
reactions, asthma,
bronchospasm
Fluid retention and
edema have been
reported with the
use of ketorolac.
Observe patient ,
Medication may
make patient
drowsy or dizzy .
Insure about the
safe use of
alcohol while
taking ketorolac.

Store the
medicine at room
temperature and
away from excess
heat and moisture
.
Throw away any
medication that is
out dated or no
longer needed .
