Here is a gas leak detector circuit that detects the leakage of LPG

gas and alerts the user through audio-visual indications. The circuit
operates off a 9V PP3 battery. ener diode !" is used to convert 9V
into #V !$ to drive the gas sensor %odule.
The gas leakage circuit uses the &'(-"3)* gas sensor %odule fro%
+hydoL,-. .ts output goes high /hen the gas level reaches or
e0ceeds certain point. , preset in the %odule is used to set the
threshold. .nterfacing /ith the sensor %odule is done through a 1-pin
&.P header.
,n 23-4 gas sensor is used in the gas sensor %odule. The sensor
can also be used to detect co%bustible gases5 especially %ethane.
6henever there is LPG concentration of "777 pp% 8parts per %illion9
in the area5 the :;T pin of the sensor %odule goes high. This signal
drives ti%er .$ ###5 /hich is /ired as an astable %ultivibrator. The
%ultivibrator basically /orks as a tone generator.
:utput pin 3 of .$ ### is connected to L'!" and speaker-driver
transistor &L"77 through current-li%iting resistors +# and +15
respectively. L'!" glo/s and the alar% sounds to alert the user of
gas leakage. The pitch of the tone can be changed by varying preset
V+". ;se a suitable heat-sink for transistor &L"77.
