TEACHER OBSEREVED: ALJARIRI LUCIANO DATE: AUG.

4, 2014


Its my first day of duty for this semester here at Mati National Comprehensive High School. Its
not new to me but Im still excited.
We are assigned to observe the class of Mr. Aljariri Luciano a Mapeh teacher of the said school.
He first reminds the class about the classroom rules and policies first thing after the prayer. He also
recognized our presence to his class and asked his students to be good to us and to cooperate. The
students gave their greetings to us to show respect and gratitude. Its nice to see the class following the
instructions given by the teacher. Its quite good to see that a man is teaching Mapeh subjects. I really
admire these types of people trying to share their knowledge and passion in the name of artistic world
of Mapeh. Sir Luciano reviewed their past lessons about social dance, a topic I really love the most.
Giving all the examples he could give he admitted to his class that he is not good in dancing, so as an
exchange he then called me and Dave to give a little dance number about social dance. Dave and I
showed them the basic steps. After that he then group the class to make a presentation about social
dance.
It was nice to share a little of what you know specially that it was your thing. You share while
you have fun, which is something that inspires me to be a teacher.

Its another day of great experience. It would surely be tiring but definitely full of fun under the
bright day of august.
We are at the covered court of Mati National Comprehensive High School. We are gathered
here together with Mr. Lucianos students and my classmates to help teach and facilitate the class in
learning the basic steps in social dance. There are two major categories of social dance The Modern
Standard and the Latin American Dance. Sir Luciano first explained the Latin Dance. He introduced the
cha-cha and its basic steps. After which we help him thought the students the step by step movements
and footsteps of the dance. It was hard at first because the students are quite hesitant and shy to dance
specially cha-cha which is not familiar to them. We tried to be more patient and calm so students will
get comfortable with us. Slowly everything went fine and I already saw the smile of happiness and
contentment in their eyes knowing that they learned something new to them.
We just ended up happy knowing that I was able to help for the learning the students. Things
might get rough but we can always work things out by being patient.

Learning is fun and artistic its something that we should enjoy and love. Lets make fun things
under the word of learning and thats something P.E. tries to offer.
Today is the continuation of the social dance lesson of the third year students. Today we do the
sway dance this is still under the Latin social dance. We first help sir Luciano to pair the students and to
make their lines straight. After that he then introduced what is sway and its basic steps. We also
participated in the step by step teaching of the steps as the students lead. We perform it slowly
considering that not all of the students are bodily kinesthetic intelligent. It was not really easy for them
to learn the dance because it needs eye and body coordination. Social dance is also a dance with a
partner so the pair must work together. So to solve the problem we as a team asked each pair if they
already got the dance steps. By doing that we are able to indicate who got it right and who needs
improvement in the said dance. It all just got smooth and fine.
It is really great challenge in the part of the teacher to find ways in giving the students the
learning they needed. You may bump in to hardships but you must find ways to keep moving.
