1. INTRODUCTION
This report documents the design of a virtual instrumentation for an alarm system for a pressure
sensor. The system also provides users with the ability to change the set point at which the alarm is
triggered.
2. FRONT-PANEL
The front panel consists of a numeric knob which simulates the raw data from a pressure sensor
which transmits at a current of 4-20 mA. The raw current input is then processed and translated to
represent pressure between 3- 15 psi. There is also a XY graph display which shows the conversion
from a current value to a pressure value. The alarm indicator comes in the form of a LED with a
numeric selector allowing one to change the set point for an alarm at any point of time.
