The opening of a novel is very important. The opening of the novel introduces the audience to the setting. The set and the scenery tells us where and when the story of the novel is taking place.
Climax Climax is the most important moment in the novel. This is what the novel has been building up to. It is usually the turning point in a story and leads to the conclusion. It is usually an exciting event. The characters lives are often changed by this event. Sometimes their lives are changed for the better or sometimes their lives are changed for the worst. Will any conflict be resolved?
Suspense Suspense is created when we do not know what is going to happen. It comes from the build up of tension. Often something goes wrong and the characters must solve the problem. This creates suspense. The audience/readers want to keep watching/reading to find out what will happen.
Conflict Conflict is a key element of a good story. Conflict happens when characters disagree about something. Conflict creates tension between the characters. This helps the audience become interested in the novel. We wonder why are the characters fighting. We want to know how will they resolve the conflict. *resolve means to fix Who will win? How will the characters reach an agreement?
