Bronze Age wreckage oldest in Turkey

Dokuz Eyll University (DEU), has discovered Bronze Age wreckage in Hisarn Gulf. It was 4.000
years old. It is reported that the wreckage has taken from Kas Uluburun ship wreckage, which was
known as Turkeys oldest wreckage site.
The remains, located 50 meters away from the coast 25-30 meters deep. It was in amphora forms,
kettle-shaped pots and ceramic cups in various forms.

Turkey beats Brazil in FIVB opening

Turkey scored a big 3-2 win over defending champions Brazil. It was on the opening day of the FIVB
World Grand Prix Finals. The match took place at Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo .

Turkeys Gzde Sonsrma was the top scorer in the match with 23 points. Brazils top scorer was
Tandara Caixeta with 20 points.

Cannes Palme d'Or winner Winter
Sleep picked as Turkeys Oscar entry

Nuri Bilge Ceylans Winter Sleep (K Uykusu) won the Palme dOr (Golden Palm)
for the best film at Cannes Film Festival . It will represent Turkey in the foreign film
category at the 87th Academy Awards next year.

Starring Haluk Bilginer, Melisa Szen and Demet Akba, Ceylans seventh feature
film, Winter Sleep, is the second Turkish film to win the prestigious Palme dOr
prize.

Winter Sleep is the story of Aydn (Bilginer), a former actor who now runs a
mountaintop hotel, and is dealing with his failing marriage.
